Bishop Orrin Pullings Sr. suffered a severe brain hemorrhage while preaching in May 2011. After collapsing, he underwent emergency brain surgery and remained in critical condition, initially unable to remember his wife, Medina, or their five children. Doctors warned that survivors of this type of hemorrhage often face lasting neurological damage.
As Medina prayed beside him, she said God gave her a promise on May 26: “Ten days, I’m going to raise him up.” Within days, doctors removed the drain from his head, transferred him out of intensive care, and watched his memory begin to return.
On June 6—exactly ten days later—Orrin reportedly walked out of the hospital without rehabilitation or residual effects. Two weeks afterward, he returned to the pulpit, calling the experience a second chance to slow down, cherish his family, and live with renewed purpose.
