Crazy Cooks - Cuisine Chez Manique All kinds of everything in relation to cooking! Cookery tips, Recipes, Cake making and more!! I have wanted to be a 'Chef' for most of my life.

From the young age of 12 I used to cook for my family of 9 - in those days, most of the recipes I got were from the Elephant House leaflets using their products (Sri Lankans, you know what I'm talking about!). I owe a lot to my mother who was a very good cook herself and who used to have her own cookery classes once a month. I used to hang around her demonstrations and collect all her leaflets (so

me of which are quite tattered now) and believe that I have got most of it from her (but not as good!!)
My husband and daughters have been my guinea pigs right throughout their lives as have most of my friends and colleagues - I don't think they mind though as I've never had to waste any leftovers, there were always takers! =D

After 2 months of bathing my Christmas cake with Brandy, I fried the Semolina and butter, added the fruit mix kept it for 24 hrs and baked my Christmas cake.
Wrapped in parchment paper and news paper- weekly I will injection Brandy into the baked cake.
The finally result will be in another new post.
