When we think about facial aging, we often focus on the skin. But the first changes begin much deeper.
Over time, the face gradually loses bone support, facial fat compartments shift, and the supporting ligaments begin to loosen. In many cases, the skin is simply the most visible sign of a process that starts beneath the surface.
Understanding how the face truly ages helps explain why facial rejuvenation should not focus only on the skin, but on addressing the underlying structures when appropriate.
