When a Woman Earns, a Whole Family Rises
In Bamenda and across the Northwest and Southwest, too many women carry the weight of their families alone.
Some are widows.

Some are young mothers whose husbands or fathers are no longer able to provide.

Many wake up every morning with the same heavy question:

“How will I feed my children today… and give them a future?”
In these regions, the struggle is real. Markets have been disrupted. Jobs are scarce. Opportunities for formal employment remain limited, especially for women who never had the chance to finish school or learn a trade. Yet every day, these same women still show up — selling small items by the roadside, farming small plots, or taking on any work they can find — because giving up is not an option when children are depending on them.
At ATOMBA Hands of Support Foundation, we refuse to look away from this reality.
We believe the most powerful way to break the cycle of poverty is to place skills and economic power directly into the hands of women.
As a young foundation, we are still laying the groundwork for this work. Through collective effort — with the community, partners, and people of goodwill — we seek to equip widows and young women with:

Practical vocational training they can use immediately
Financial literacy so they can manage money wisely
Small start-up support to help them launch or grow income-generating activities

When a woman learns a skill and gains the means to earn, something powerful happens.

She feeds her children with dignity.

She keeps them in school.

She becomes less vulnerable to exploitation.

She becomes a source of strength for her extended family and her community.
This is not charity that ends when the food is finished.

This is an investment in lasting change — and it will only happen if we build it together.
A woman who earns does not only survive — she builds.

The Situation
Michael Che Kain, a young, vibrant Cameroonian brother from Bafmen (North West Region), is currently fighting a severe, aggressive, and highly painful tumor mass.
Over the last four years, this tumor has caused his arm to swell significantly. Michael previously underwent surgery at the Mbingo Baptist Hospital. Tragically, the aggressive swelling returned.
Doctors have stated that his only path to survival is immediate, intensive radiation therapy.
The Financial Burden
The cost of radiation is completely overwhelming for Michael and his family:

* Daily Session Cost: 81,250 FCFA
* Duration Required: 30 Days
* Total Medical Goal: 3,000,000 FCFA

Michael’s family has exhausted all resources. One of his own brothers was even forced to drop out of school just to care for him. They cannot do this alone. He needs our collective hands of support right now.

She told me, "Uncle, I just want to go to school like others."

That broke me.
