🖇️Today, Rural Nurses stands with the world to mark World Hepatitis Day 2026.

Under the theme “Hepatitis: Let’s Break It Down,” we reaffirm our commitment to educating communities, promoting early testing and ensuring that no one is left behind especially those in rural and underserved areas.

Knowledge saves lives. Early detection saves lives.

In a small rural village, a hardworking father began feeling tired every day. He thought it was just stress from farming. Weeks turned into months. His eyes became yellow, he lost his appetite, and his stomach started swelling. By the time he reached a health facility, his liver had already been seriously damaged.

This is the reality for many people living with hepatitis.

Hepatitis is one of the world’s deadliest infectious diseases, yet it remains highly neglected. Many people don’t know they have it because it can silently damage the liver for years before symptoms appear.

⚠️ Watch out for:
• Unusual tiredness
• Yellow eyes or skin (jaundice)
• Dark urine
• Loss of appetite
• Nausea or vomiting
• Abdominal pain or swelling

In many rural communities, limited access to health information, testing and treatment means too many people are diagnosed late.

This World Hepatitis Day, let’s break the silence, break the myths and break the barriers to testing and care.

Know your status. Protect your liver. Protect your

🖇️SUNDAY HEALTH REFLECTION ❤️

As you prepare for a new week, remember to take your health with you.

Listen to your body when it tells you to slow down, rest, hydrate or seek help. Pay attention to changes in how you feel instead of ignoring them until they become more serious.

Care for your mind too. Give yourself permission to rest, take a break, talk to someone you trust and protect your peace.

As the new week begins, make choices that support a healthier you drink enough water, eat nourishing foods, get adequate rest, stay active when you can and don’t postpone important health checks.

You don’t have to do everything at once. One healthy choice today can be the beginning of a healthier tomorrow.

Your health matters. Your wellbeing matters. You matter.

🖇️FRIDAY COMMUNITY STORY | REACHING RURAL HEARTS

Sometimes, community is more than just a place.
It is the smiles we share, the hands we hold and the support we give to one another. 🤝🏾

This picture reminds us that every child deserves to feel seen, supported and cared for including children and families living in underserved rural communities.

At Rural Nurses, we believe that healthcare is not only about treating illness. It is also about showing up, listening, creating awareness and reaching people where they are.

Every visit.
Every conversation.
Every helping hand.
Every smile.

Small acts of care can create meaningful change in a community. 🌍

Because every child matters. Every family matters. Every community matters.

🖇️THURSDAY HEALTH TIP: YOUR BODY IS TALKING!

Dehydration happens when your body loses more fluids than it takes in.

⚠️ Watch out for signs like: extreme thirst, dry mouth, dark urine, dizziness, headache, weakness, and unusual tiredness.

Stay hydrated by drinking water regularly, especially during hot weather or physical activity. Remember to pay special attention to children, older adults and sick people.

🚨 Don’t ignore severe symptoms like confusion, fainting, severe weakness, inability to keep fluids down, or very little/no urine. Seek medical help.

Your body needs water to function. Listen to your body. Stay hydrated. Stay healthy.

🖇️TUESDAY HEALTH TIP: CLEAN HANDS, HEALTHIER LIVES! ❤️

Your hands can carry germs without you even knowing it.

Washing your hands regularly with soap and clean water can help reduce the spread of many infections.

Remember to wash your hands:

✅ Before preparing or eating food
✅ After using the toilet
✅ After caring for someone who is sick
✅ After coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose
✅ After touching waste or dirty surfaces

🫧 Simple habit. Powerful protection.

Infections that can spread through unwashed hands include:
-Diarrheal diseases such as cholera, dysentery and some stomach infections
-Typhoid fever
-Hepatitis A
-Influenza (flu)
-COVID-19
-Respiratory infections
-Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
-Worm infections

The good news: Washing your hands properly with soap and clean running water is one of the simplest ways to help prevent the spread of many infections.

📌Dirty hands can spread germs. Clean hands can help stop them.

At Rural Nurses, we believe that preventing illness often starts with small, everyday actions.
