🌍 World Humanitarian Day | 19 August 2026

Today, we honour the people who choose to show up where humanity hurts most.

Humanitarian work is not only about responding to crises. It is about restoring dignity, creating safety, listening to people whose voices are often unheard, and helping communities find the strength to rebuild.

At DIBA Holistic Wellness Care, we are especially mindful of the invisible wounds that accompany displacement, conflict, loss, violence, poverty, and other crises. Behind every statistic is a person carrying a story, a family trying to cope, and a community seeking hope.

To every humanitarian, mental health professional, psychosocial support worker, community volunteer, frontline responder, caregiver, advocate, and community member serving with compassion, we see you, we honour you, and we thank you

And to the DIBA team: thank you for continuing to show up, serve, learn, listen, and believe that healing is possible.

May we never lose sight of the humanity behind the work.

Strengthening Partnerships. Enhancing Care. Building Safer Communities.

Today, DIBA Holistic Wellness Care was pleased to host the UNFPA Cameroon team for a monitoring and support visit to our office and service delivery space.

The visit provided an opportunity to present our work in mental health and psychosocial support, Gender-Based Violence (GBV) case management, and the safe space we have established to ensure survivors and other vulnerable individuals can access quality, confidential, and survivor-centered services.

The engagement also created a valuable platform for dialogue on strengthening institutional capacity, improving service quality, and advancing collaborative efforts to expand access to integrated protection and mental health services within our communities.

We sincerely appreciate UNFPA Cameroon for their continued commitment to supporting local organizations

As DIBA Holistic Wellness Care continues to grow, we remain steadfast in our mission to provide compassionate, evidence-informed, and person-centered care while fostering partnerships that contribute to healthier, safer, and more resilient communities.

Together, we are creating spaces where every individual is seen, heard, supported, and empowered.

HAPPY NEW MONTH, DIBA FAMILY!
Welcome to August!

A new month is another opportunity to pause, breathe, begin again, and continue our journey to *Identify, Heal, and THRIVE.

To everyone who is part of the DIBA community, our clients, families, volunteers, partners, supporters, and everyone who believes in the work we do, thank you for walking this journey with us.

May August bring you peace where there has been uncertainty, healing where there has been pain, strength where you have felt weary, and hope where you have needed a new beginning.

May this month remind you that healing does not always happen in big moments. Sometimes it happens in choosing yourself again, having an honest conversation, setting a healthy boundary, asking for help, resting without guilt, or simply giving yourself permission to begin again.

OUR PRAYER FOR AUGUST
May God bless you and your household throughout this new month.

May He guide your steps, protect your peace, strengthen your heart, provide for your needs, and open doors that align with His purpose for your life.

May August bring restoration, fruitful relationships, meaningful opportunities, and renewed hope.

May you have the courage to release what no longer serves you and the wisdom to embrace what helps you grow.

May this be a month of healing, wholeness, purpose and flourishing.

Welcome to August.

With love,
DIBA Holistic Wellness Care

Day Five of the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Case Management Training, led by UNFPA Cameroon, Wacameroon Ngo, and TeenAlive - Cameroon brought this transformative five-day capacity-building workshop (July 22nd–26th) to a successful conclusion, focusing on staff care, self-care strategies, and ethical survivor-centered information management.

A major emphasis of the final day was placed on recognizing that humanitarian workers operate in high-pressure environments, where prioritizing staff well-being is essential. Participants explored how stress is a natural response, but without intentional self-care across physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions, cumulative stress can lead to burnout. To stay resilient, 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 to continue delivering quality care.

In addition to staff care, the session underscored the critical components of informed consent, age-appropriate assent protocols, and the survivor's fundamental right to control their incident data. Standardized coding systems and strict confidentiality measures were highlighted to ensure that data management for reporting and advocacy never compromises survivor safety or privacy.

DIBA Holistic Wellness Care extends its heartfelt gratitude to UNFPA Cameroon, Wacameroon Ngo, TeenAlive - Cameroon, and the facilitators for organizing and leading such a comprehensive, impactful training. Ultimately, the week reinforced that effective GBV case management goes far beyond service delivery it is about upholding ethics, protecting survivors, and maintaining strong, healthy care teams.

Day 3. The Fresh Oil Ceremony. The anointing. The commissioning. The tears that came not from pain this time, but from something being poured in.

Participants who arrived three days ago carrying exhaustion, silence and the quiet weight of giving everything to everyone else, left today speaking their own names over themselves in a mirror. Left today with covenants made in accountability circles. Left today anointed, commissioned and empowered.

They didn’t leave saying “I learned a lot.”
They left saying “something shifted in me. I know reality will set in but I'm certain that I have the right tools to navigate this with rest and ease.”

That’s the only metric that matters.

Thank you to every individual who trusted DIBA with your most honest self this weekend. The fresh oil didn’t just fall — it stayed.

You are anointed. You are whole. You are empowered for triumph.
