We had another opportunity to serve our community. Komunité Health team in collaboration with Nation brought free healthcare services to the community of Mile 16 Buea.

They were educated on diabetes, hypertension, obesity etc and screened for these diseases including HIV.

When you show up consistently for communities, the impact eventually speaks for itself.

We’re delighted to share that Komunite Health was spotlighted by Fako Global Newspaper following our recent community outreach at Upper Muea.

This recognition goes beyond visibility.
It affirms that we are solving real problems, reaching the right people, and creating measurable community impact, one community at a time.

At Upper Muea, we provided health education and screening for hypertension, diabetes, and obesity, while empowering residents with practical tools to take charge of their health.

Komunite Health exists for one simple reason:
👉 To help people live better and smarter today for a healthier tomorrow.

Drum 🥁🥁🥁 rolls

It was a huge success having our first community outreach of 2026 at the Muea community, Buea last Saturday 31st January.

We educated and screened over 200 people for high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity while empowering them with educational materials.

We thank the chief of Upper Muea for welcoming us into his community and actively mobilizing the population for this activity.

Thank you Chief Wonya Ngale of the Wonya Ngale Foundation for spearheading the planning of this powerful outreach.

To our CEO Tii Ngwachi Munghieng and the entire team, thank you for always going out of your way to bring health to the people in the communities.

Together, we are building communities that thrive in health.

Key facts from the World Health Organization (WHO) Diabetes update 2024.

This tells us that 6-8 people die EVERY MINUTE due to diabetes and its complications.

The interesting part is that the majority of these rising deaths occur in low and middle-income countries (Cameroon very very inclusive).

Shall we fold our arms and watch this trend 📈 continue to rise? We say God forbid!

Komunité Health Initiative is here to contribute to the Global fight against diabetes and other cardiovascular disease at the community level through health education, screening, DASH diet approach and lifestyle modification.

Together, we can build a healthier and diabetes free communities.

Join us for our community outreach program on 31st January at the Muea community (details on the flyer).

Now let me ask you this; If you were given the power to stop the occurrence of just one disease in your community, what will it be?

Does living with a disease teach discipline?

We recently encountered a woman who was newly diagnosed with diabetes.
She said something that stayed with us:
“I thank God that diabetes was detected in me early enough.”
Not because she wanted diabetes nor did she enjoy living with the condition.
But because it was detected before complications.
Before blindness, kidney disease, stroke or even amputation.

That early detection pushed her to become more health conscious.
She started making daily healthy choices.
She learned discipline and became consistent.
Today, her blood sugar is controlled and she continues in the health conscious living.

And this pattern is common.
People living with chronic conditions often become more disciplined towards their health choices because disease forces discipline.

So the real question is:
Will you wait to develop a disease before becoming disciplined?
Or will you start today?

It starts with knowing your status.
And you can only know by checking yourself.

Don’t wait for a diagnosis to change your life.
Start with one simple step.
Come and check.
