🌿 YOUR BRAIN AGES TOO: HOW FOOD CAN SUPPORT BRAIN HEALTH

Have you ever walked into a room and suddenly forgotten why you went there?

You are not alone.

As we grow older, changes in memory and mental sharpness can happen. But here is something important: your brain needs nourishment too.

We often think about food in terms of weight, energy, or physical appearance, but what we eat also matters to the systems that support our brain.

🌿 SO, WHAT DOES FOOD HAVE TO DO WITH BRAIN HEALTH?

Our bodies naturally produce free radicals as part of normal processes. When oxidative stress occurs, scientists study its relationship with aging and various health conditions.

This is one reason foods rich in antioxidants are important. They provide nutrients and compounds that support the body's natural defense systems.

Think about colourful vegetables, fruits, bell peppers, chia seeds and black seeds.

And black seeds are particularly interesting.

🌿 BLACK SEEDS AND THE BRAIN

Black seeds contain a bioactive compound called THYMOQUINONE.

Thymoquinone has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and has been studied for its potential neuroprotective effects. Researchers are also investigating how compounds found in black seeds may support brain function and memory.

So, adding black seeds to a healthy, balanced diet can be one practical way of including beneficial plant compounds in your nutrition.

But remember, ONE FOOD IS NOT A MAGIC SOLUTION FOR MEMORY OR BRAIN HEALTH.

Your overall lifestyle matters.

🌿 AND WHAT ABOUT FASTING?

When you fast, your body adapts to the absence of incoming food and begins using stored energy while activating various metabolic processes.

But understanding fasting is more than simply skipping meals.

How you fast, what you eat when you break your fast, the quality of your food, your sleep, physical activity, stress levels and your overall lifestyle all matter.

There is so much more to learn about how nutrition and lifestyle strategies can fit together.

This is only part of the picture.

If you want to understand these principles more practically and learn how to make better choices around sugar, nutrition, fasting and healthy living, GO DEEPER WITH US IN THE ZERO SUGAR COURSE.

🌱 SIX COMPONENTS OF HEALTHY LIVING

There are many things that contribute to healthy living, but let’s focus on six important ones:

1️⃣ DON’T EAT ALL THE TIME

Give your body time to rest, reset, cleanse naturally, and tap into stored energy. Eating healthy is not only about what you eat, but also about giving your body healthy periods of not eating.

2️⃣ UNDERSTAND HOW INSULIN WORKS

Every time you eat, insulin responds. When insulin remains high too often, it can contribute to insulin resistance, making it harder for your cells to use glucose effectively.

🌿 When you nourish your health, you grow your wealth.

3️⃣ CHECK YOUR ENVIRONMENT

Your mental and physical environment matters. What do you believe about healthy living? And what foods surround you?

Make your environment support the healthy lifestyle you want.

4️⃣ MOVE YOUR BODY

Exercise is important, but what you eat also plays a major role. Stay active, strengthen your muscles, and make movement part of your lifestyle.

5️⃣ MANAGE YOUR STRESS

Stress can affect your body and increase your desire for sugary or comfort foods. Learn to calm yourself, look for solutions, and manage stressful situations better.

6️⃣ GET ENOUGH SLEEP

Your body needs enough sleep to rest and carry out important processes. Pay attention to what you do before bedtime and avoid heavy meals too close to sleep.

🌿 Your health is your greatest wealth.

When you nourish your health, you grow your wealth.

Good morning Healthy People. I wish to share with you a testimony from our August Zero Sugar Zero sugar course. Happy Reading.

Good evening to my healthy family. How are we doing at our various corners? Hope we are all doing fine with our families. Permit me share my testimonies in this healthy family. It was August 2025, I was diagnosed of high sugar and the level was 475 mg at Mbingo Annex hospital in Bamenda There gave some injections immediately, they also thought me how inject on my thighs (Minstet) I injected for 4 months. I was drinking 3 litres of water or more every day, I avoided sugar, honey, sweet drinks, watermelon etc and all what I was told not to eat or drink. I was later placed on 2 metformin tablets, from metformin tablets to one tablets morning and evening. In April 2026 after a test, the metformin was reduce from one tablets to half tablets morning and evening then on the 7th of August 2026, Just one week to clock one year when I was diagnosed with high sugar, I did another test again at Mboppi Baptist hospital as the Doctor requested. Behold the Doctor proclaim the results that "Madam you have controlled your sugar well, you will not take that metfomin again, your sugar has normalize, you are free but continue following the health tips" I cried (tears of joy) and i laughed at the same time. I really take this time to thank God and our Doctor here for the health tips because if you follow these health lessons she gives us, you will be healthy. Because I have come to realize that must of the illnesses are being caused by our life style, what we eat, drink, how we eat and when we eat including the quantity and the quality. If we follow these health tips seriously we will spend less or nothing on drugs. It's good to live a healthy life, then maintain a healthy weight. At first my weight was 103 kg, but because of these health tips, my weight is now ranging between 84, 85, 86.

Let’s talk about something a lot of people are walking around with and may not even know it.

FAT IN THE LIVER.

And the good news is that in many cases, you can actually reduce that fat and improve your liver health.

Let me explain.

Your liver is one of the hardest working organs in your body. One of the things it does is help your body store and manage energy.

But when you are constantly taking too much sugar, sugary drinks, alcohol, refined carbohydrates, and highly processed foods, excess fat can start building up in the liver.

And the scary part?

At the beginning, you may not feel anything.

No pain. No warning. You may feel completely normal while fat is already building up in your liver.

So what can you do?

NUMBER ONE: CUT DOWN ON LIQUID SUGAR.

If you are drinking soft drinks, sweetened juices, energy drinks and other sugary drinks every day, please reduce them.

Your liver does not need all that extra sugar.

NUMBER TWO: MOVE YOUR BODY.

And listen to this one carefully.

You don't need to spend two hours in the gym every day.

Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week.

That's roughly 21 to 22 minutes a day if you divide it across the week.

You can walk.

You can dance.

You can cycle.

You can do aerobic exercise.

And please don't forget strength training too.

Do squats. Lift weights. Do push ups. Do resistance exercises.

Try to include muscle strengthening at least two days a week.

NUMBER THREE: EAT MORE FIBER.

Give your body more vegetables, beans, seeds and other high fiber foods.

And yes, chia seeds can be part of that.

One simple way I like to take chia seeds is to put them in water, shake well, allow them to swell, and then drink them.

Simple.

NUMBER FOUR: PAY ATTENTION TO THE TYPE OF FAT YOU ARE EATING.

Don't just hear "fat" and remove every fat from your diet.

Choose healthier sources of fat such as fish, nuts, seeds and olive oil, while reducing foods that are high in saturated fat.

And please, don't wait until you start feeling pain before you start taking care of your liver.

Because sometimes the liver can be struggling quietly.

The beautiful thing is that lifestyle changes can make a real difference.

Move your body.

Reduce sugary drinks.

Eat more whole, high fiber foods.

Choose healthier fats.

And if you have been diagnosed with fatty liver, don't just ignore it. Speak with a qualified healthcare professional and get properly assessed.

Your liver is working for you every single day.

Please, work with it too.

And share this with that friend who cannot eat without a sugary drink.

Yes, that friend.

This video is for them.

INSTEAD OF WAITING UNTIL SOMETHING GOES WRONG

One of the biggest mistakes people make is waiting until something goes wrong before they start taking their health seriously.

The truth is, good health is built every day through the small choices we make.

You do not have to wait for a diagnosis before you start making changes.

Start today.

Drink enough water.

Eat more natural, whole foods.

Move your body regularly.

Get enough sleep.

Manage your stress.

These simple daily habits may seem small, but over time, they can make a meaningful difference.

Your health is not something you should only think about when there is a problem.

Take responsibility for your health today, instead of waiting until something goes wrong.

Prevention is always better than waiting for a problem to force you to act.

Your future health is being shaped by the choices you are making today.

YOU MUST BE CAUTIOUS ABOUT WHAT YOU EAT & THE ENVIRONMENT YOU FIND YOURSELF IN.

Once the food leaves your mouth, you no longer have control over what it does inside your body.

Your body will process whatever you choose to eat, whether it nourishes you or harms you. That is why you must take responsibility for your health and pay attention to the choices you make every day.

There is no way to reach into your stomach and remove the junk you have already eaten. Once it has left your mouth, the choice has been made.

So, make the right choice. Choose good food. Choose foods that nourish your body and support your health.

Remember, you are responsible for what you put into your body.

Take action today. Make healthier food choices and encourage someone else to do the same.
