This week, we welcome 281 young medical professionals. 😊The newest chapter in their careers begins now. 🎉

Over three days of orientation, our leadership team shared what it means to be “SRRSH Youth”: excellence in expertise, courage to innovate, compassion in care, wisdom with AI, and a deep sense of duty.

From lectures on medical law and patient communication to a hospital walk-through as “patients” to improve our services—every session was designed to shape not just skilled professionals, but human-centered healers.

Welcome to the family. The future of healthcare starts with you. 😄

Two more sessions down in our 5-month Executive Leadership Program with Mayo Clinic. 😊

Online, our mid-level leaders joined Mayo’s experts to exchange insights on Quality, Safety, Performance & Operations. Offline, we went deeper—patient experience, service innovation.

From Mayo’s values and culture to SRRSH’s own quality journey, every session is a bridge between two hospitals, united by one mission: putting patients first.

Born at just 1,170g and 1,590g—together weighing under 3 kg—this premature brother and sister faced nearly every challenge a preemie can encounter. Patent ductus arteriosus, respiratory distress, sepsis, breathing support, and multiple setbacks along the way. Through it all, our multidisciplinary team never stopped fighting alongside them.

Day by day, milliliter by milliliter, the twins grew stronger. The NICU team tracked every breath, adjusted every setting, and celebrated every small victory—1 more mL of milk consumed, one less tube. After 52 days of round-the-clock care, both babies are finally home.

Their parents wrote three heartfelt letters of gratitude. “Every bit of happiness we have today was earned by the medical team. Without them, our family wouldn’t be complete.”

Welcome home, little ones.❤️

Recently, three Indonesian orthopedic experts visited Hangzhou to observe an operation—robotic-assisted knee replacement surgery, performed by Dr. Shi Peihua’s joint surgery team at (Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital).

The patient, a 74-year-old, had already trusted Dr. Shi’s team once before. Two months ago, they replaced her left knee with robotic surgery, and she recovered well. That experience brought her back for the right side without hesitation.

During the procedure, the robot’s three strengths were fully displayed: millimeter-precise bone cuts, real-time tissue tension monitoring, and one-step deformity correction that lowers long-term complication risks. The implant went in exactly as planned—depth and angle, spot on.

Dr. Shi walked the Indonesian experts through every move, answering questions as the surgery unfolded. The visiting team praised the procedure as internationally advanced—precision and flow at the highest level, with useful insights for similar cases across Southeast Asia.

Obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (oHCM) isn’t rare, but for many, treatment options feel limited. Surgery is invasive and alcohol ablation isn’t always anatomically feasible.

Dr. Sun Yaxun, a cardiologist at (Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital), introduces the PHASE procedure—a novel, minimally invasive technique that targets thickened heart muscle with precision, without open-heart surgery.

In a recent successful case, a 60-year-old patient with severe symptoms saw his left ventricular outflow tract gradient drop from 130 mmHg to just 30 mmHg. He walked normally the next day and had zero complications.

Backed by 12-month follow-up data and recognized by JACC: Case Reports, this Chinese-original approach offers new hope: safer, simpler, and effective for more patients.

When the “king of cancers”—pancreatic cancer strikes, hope isn’t lost. Many assume a pancreatic cancer diagnosis is a death sentence, but modern medicine tells a different story.

At ’s International Pancreatic Disease Center (led by Executive Deputy Party Secretary, general surgeon Professor Yu Hong), we’re proving that through a combination of standardized neoadjuvant therapy, minimally invasive surgery, and postoperative chemotherapy, long-term survival is achievable for patients with pancreatic cancer.

Take two of our recent patients: both had pancreatic tumors detected incidentally during routine checkups. One underwent successful minimally invasive surgery followed by adjuvant chemotherapy and is back to dancing. The other, initially deemed inoperable due to vascular involvement, received a preoperative drug therapy that shrank her tumor enough for a curative resection. She’s now back to her life.

The “king of cancers” is tough—but so is our multidisciplinary team. With the right strategy, hope isn’t just a feeling. It’s a plan.
