The Springs Resort is just a unique and totally special place. A perfect blend of luxury with nature.

Rooms are hugely spacious and elegantly designed, the gym is fabulous, the spa is great, restaurants are all amazing.

Then there are THREE SETS of hotsprings: totally wild pools deep in the jungle, semi-wild pools with cascades in lush tropical growth, and then luxury spa pools around a sushi bar, with music playing and high vibes.

I.e. something for everyone.

This is one of out favorite hotels in the world, with a daypass option.

Tour of Baldi hotsprings by night...26 pools, with water from the volcano, which starts at 50 degrees!!! They have to cool it down to enter the pools, and it runs through the hot springs cooling down at each pool.

As you csn see, there are nature pools, bar pools, students, waterfalls and caves...its like a Disney world of hot springs!!!

This is one of the more natural and down to earth hotsprings in Fortuna, Costa Rica. It is also half the price of the other comparable ones.

Set in lush jungle, the waters span from 32 to 39.5 degrees, clearly marked in each pool. There are hot waterfalls for self massage. And cooler plunge pools to regulate your temperature.

Our favourite feature was the Stone beds just under the surface of the water, where you can lie and gaze up to the treetop canopy. Watching tropical birds and monkeys playing above...

Heavenly.

This might just be the pinnacle of hot springs!

It is a hotel, but feels more like a nature park with hot springs in it.

Like Disneyland for grownups! God's own playground (with a little assistance from mankind!).

There are three levels of hotspring: luxury, half-wild and the full on jungle experience!

With 165 hectares, even when the hotel is full this place feels spacious.

You can stay here for the full experience, or get a day pass for a taste of heaven.

And it is absolutely worth it!

The waters soothed our skin and our nervous system. We felt so mellowed out! The nature sounds are just amazing. You can just lie looking into the jungle.

This place is healing on many levels.

With something for everyone, truly you cannot go wrong here.

Tabacon is possibly the most famous hot springs venue in Arenal.

Rather than springs that bubble up from the earth, this one is formed from the clouds that condense on the top if the volcano and run down as a hot river! For that reason the water is more clear (than The Springs or Paraiso), but slightly less minerals.

The attraction of this one is the waterfalls that massage your shoulders and back.

Plus a superb buffet included in your ticket, an in-pool bar and plenty of loungers to rest on. The gardens are exquisite like a botanical garden.

This hot springs resort is one of the most affordable hotels with hot springs on site, and yet the springs are some of the nicest pools in the area.

Priced around 100- 150 usd a night, you get a log cabin with volcano views in a large spacious gardens.

The actual hotel is somewhat dated and run-down, with a tiny gym of rusted equipment (5 pieces only), loose shower fittings in the room and a very limited menu of unhealthy foods.

But the hot springs are great, with mineral-rich waters that chill you out. On the days the spa is open, soft music plays at the springs. Plus you can bathe 24-7.

We were itching the whole time to revamp the place with a health food cafe, state of the art gym and refurbished rooms. But then there are other hotels that have all of that.

And we liked it so much we extended from 4 nights to 8!

Of the three sets of hot springs, this one is the most modern. With Jacuzzis, music, a bar, even TV screens in one area (!!??!).

But also stunning views of the volcano, amazing mineral rich water, and incredible lighting at night.
