Next up is a new series about dissturbances of the mind in TCM

No. 1:
🫀✨Heart Blood Deficiency

Feeling emotionally fragile? Overthinking at night? Trouble falling asleep? You might be experiencing signs of Heart Blood Deficiency, a disharmony where the Heart lacks nourishment and the Shen (mind/spirit) becomes unsettled.

Signs may include:

* Palpitations (especially when anxious or lying down)
* Poor memory & concentration
* Dream-disturbed sleep or insomnia
* Dizziness, pale lips or complexion
* Easily startled or tearful
* Anxiety or a general sense of unease

This is a common pattern in people who overwork, overthink, or experience long-term emotional strain. The Blood becomes depleted, and the Shen floats — causing restlessness, forgetfulness, and emotional instability.

🫁 Often seen with Spleen Qi Deficiency, as the Spleen is the source of Blood.
🩸 Sometimes combined with Liver Blood Deficiency, especially in menstruating women.

🌿 Treatment principle: nourish Blood, calm the Shen, and support the Heart.

Do you resonate with this pattern?
