The European Society of Residents in Urology (ESRU) was founded in 1991 as the body representing the trainees in urology within the European Union and its associated countries. The ESRU is an independent organization working in close cooperation with the European Board of Urology (EBU) and the European Association of Urology (EAU) in matters concerning the training and education of residents in urology.

A great day with the ESRU Executive Committee, taking the time to reflect on our vision and shape the future of ESRU within the EAU.

We asked ourselves some big questions:
💭 What does meaningful work really look like?
🤝 What do EAU members want and need from us?
📈 What are our strengths, and where can we improve?

One thing became very clear: listening to our members and working together is the key to making a real difference.

We're especially excited to strengthen our collaboration with our National Communication Officers (NCOs) and build an even more connected, engaged, and impactful ESRU community across Europe.

The discussions were inspiring, the ideas were energizing, and this is only the beginning. We can't wait to turn these plans into action! 🚀

Join us for YUOR-Day (Young Urologists Office Day) on 14 March 2026 in Blue Area – Victoria 5 in London.

This dedicated programme for urology residents brings together international experts and young leaders to discuss the topics that matter most early in your career.

Explore opportunities through the European Urology Scholarship Programme, hear insights from fellows and tutors, and learn how to develop your career in urology—from research and leadership within the European Association of Urology to sustainability and health economics.

Get practical surgery tips & tricks, discuss challenging nightmare cases, simplify complex topics like urodynamics, erectile dysfunction, and AI in urology, and watch top residents compete in the Guidelines Cup.

🏆 The day concludes with the Best Abstract by a Resident Awards, celebrating outstanding research by young urologists.
