Contact. Don't you dare break the contact!
Contact at all times on baby during swaddling is how you get a secure, effective (handmade) swaddle.
The moment you let go, that's it!!!
(YES, I'm being very dramatic right now).
The moment you break the contact, baby has a chance to wriggle and loosen the taught swaddle you fought hard to keep taught. Lol.
No, not all babies will like being swaddled and they will attempt to escape. If this happens too often, just don't swaddle.
And yes, there is 'controversy' around swaddling...
So read your baby, do your research, read the guidelines.

P.s. Yes you can purchase 'ready to use' swaddles if you're getting in a pickle trying to wrap your baby.
