We are excited to share that our new local European Solidarity Corps project, “Sõprus Algab Raamatust”, has been approved! 📚✨ Soon, we will not only explore Estonian literature together but also build a community of book lovers. Sounds exciting, right?? 😍

Today, two young people from our team attended a training organised by the National Agency .eu to learn more about project implementation and gain some new knowledge 🔥

Ciao, ma olen Melyna 👋🏼

Viimased 2 kuud olen veetnud Itaalias vabatahtlikuna YMCA Siderno noorteorganisatsioonis. Ma abistan neid kommmunikatsiooni tiimis uue veebilehe loomise ja sotsiaalmeediaga. See on minu jaoks imeline võimalus, sest olen õppinud varasemalt visuaalmeediat kui ka digitootedisaini.

Töötamine Itaalia kultuuris on täiesti teistsugune ja lõbus, siin olles olen õppinud iseseisvalt elama ja ka traditsioonilisi roogasid valmistama 🍝

See kogemus siin on mind arendanud inimesena ja silmaringi laiendanud tänu kultuurierinevustele 🇮🇹 mille üle olen ülimalt tänulik 🌍

Ciao, my name is Melyna 👋🏼

For the past 2 month’s I’ve spent as a volunteer in YMCA Sidernos youth organization. I take part in their communication team by helping them create a new website and creating social media content. This is an amazing opportunity for me, beacuse I have perviously studied visual media and digital product design.

Working in an Italian culture is completely different and exciting, being here I have learned to live independently and cook traditional dishes 🍝

This experience has shaped me as a person and opened my eyes to so much thanks to cultural differences 🇮🇹 which I am beyond grateful for 🌍

The guide was created by professional graphic designers actively involved in youth work, ensuring that the content is not only high-quality but also practical and easy to apply 🤓☝🏼

​The training course is designed to be highly interactive and 100% practical. Participants will work directly with the guide, test tools and methods, and develop concrete ideas to improve their organisation’s visibility and communication 🔥

A few weeks ago we hosted a small communication workshop at our office in 🗣️

Led by our team who just came back from a training course in Czechia 🇨🇿, the session was all about exploring how we actually communicate, both with words and without them.

We started with a simple icebreaker, got to know each other a bit, and then moved into some practical exercises (Dixit cards were involved 😜). It turned into a really nice space to notice how misunderstandings happen and what actually helps us understand each other better 💭

From 11–15 April, we participated in a training course in Brežice, Slovenia, together with around 25 participants, educators, psychologists and youth workers 🇸🇮

The training focused on Non-Violent Communication (NVC) and how to move from polarization to dialogue in youth work 🤝🏼

During the week, we explored:
💭 the role of empathy in communication
🤍 understanding feelings and needs behind reactions
👂🏼 active and empathetic listening
👀 the 4 steps of NVC (observations, feelings, needs, requests)
🥶 different ways of responding to conflict (fight, flight, freeze, curiosity) 

We also worked with practical tools and exercises, such as:
✉️ communication activities using objects to represent different types of messages
😡 the “anger thermometer” for emotional awareness
🗣️ group reflections and dialogue methods

The training provided space to reflect on communication patterns, both in professional and everyday contexts, hvala!
