👩⚕️ About the Speaker
Prof. Dr. Rania Farouk El Sayed is Professor of Radiology at Cairo University and an internationally recognized pioneer in Pelvic Floor MRI. With more than 25 years of experience, she has played a leading role in establishing pelvic floor imaging as a specialized field worldwide. She founded the European Society of Urogenital Radiology (ESUR) Pelvic Floor MRI Working Group, chaired it for over a decade, and served as the lead author of the landmark 2017 ESUR–ESGAR joint recommendations, followed by major international consensus statements and guidelines on pelvic floor imaging and MR defecography.
At Cairo University, she founded and currently leads the MRI Pelvic Floor Imaging Unit and Research Laboratory, an internationally recognized referral center that attracts patients, fellows, and trainees from Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. Prof. El Sayed has contributed extensively to medical education through numerous textbook chapters, including Elsevier's Diagnostic Imaging: Gynecology, and multiple internationally recognized publications. Her exceptional contributions to pelvic floor imaging have established her as one of the world's foremost authorities in the field.
