Doctors mostly look at problems; I prefer to look at possibilities!!!

Running Montserrat 23 km/1200m+ with 1 of our clients who some months ago was told to need back surgery and never run again... Physiotherapy & good training made this complete nonsense

Specialist in stage trail running 🏃🏻‍♂️🎉✅!!

After another brilliant long weekend at the i can say i am an expert on stage runs.

It was my 6th finish at the 80 kms Costa Brava. This combined with the 2 finishes at the
and several participations in the .

All finishes in the stage runs have been in top 10 positions with several podium places 🥇🥈🥉 and even an overall 🏆.

Key points for the success are:
- planning & structure; do what I know works...don't try out new things 📑
- fueling; since I use the solids, gels & drink mix of and the salts of I have no doubt they are my perfect match...even in races like this weekend or the 58km Cami de Cavalls in Menorca with 25+ degrees!
- positive mindset; it's all about enjoying...the nature, the people and feeling extremely happy I can do what I love!
- "energy management"; a balanced lifestyle taking care of both body & mind is key for good health and good results 🔋

One year ago, one big dream, one incredible adventure, one Boston Marathon 🏃🏻‍♂️🎉

The Boston Marathon is a dream for any road runner.
Because the qualifying limits it brings together the best runners in their categories.
After running my "home Barcelona marathon" 2024 in 2:54 h I knew 2025 was my change. I signed up and got in 😎

The experience was amazing; everything was BIG...(too big for me to repeat a Major Marathon to be honest 😅)

It was the hardest road marathon I ran in my life mainly due to the late start and the big uphills in the second part but it was very much worth it 👌💪🏽

Extra bonus; from my own experience it gave me the perfect information to pass on to my clients who plan to run Boston as well. So...first year after my first "Boston marathon client" received all the insights for next Monday!!

A real running specialist runs 😊

Improve your running within Hyrox...??

With great pleasure we worked with world champion Hyrox .athleticbto improve her running. She introduced me to the world of Hyrox and I believed it was extremely interesting.
The combination of the stations with the running is very challenging. What I notice is that most Hyrox athletes have a background in CrossFit which makes them better obstacle-athletes than runners.

So...what to do to get better in running??
The answer in my professional opinion is not just faster shoes but FIRST improve your technique of running 🏃🏻‍♂️🏃‍♀️!

As the 8 x 1000 meters combine speed and resistance our focus is to run easy & light first to save energy for the obstacles. When this is achieved specific adjustments can be made to speed up and actually win time on the running.

Double win; when running better the faster carbon plate shoes make more sense!!

Thank you thank you thank you!!

What we don't see as runners in a race is the huge amount of work which is done before and during the event. Getting all the licences, sponsors, logistics right is not easy. A big thanks to all of you organizers and volunteers that make it possible 🎉💪🏻🙏

With a special mention for and that over the years mark the "golden standard" in my opinion in their beautiful races!

How cool is it being called "the Flying Dutchman" 🏃🏻‍♂️🪽🇳🇱!!

After winning the first stage of the 80 km i received the congratulations of a colleague runner on the podium calling me (with "cariño" as they say in Spanish 🙂) the Flying Dutchman.

I am not the type of using nicknames and less for myself but this time I make an exception; I felt honoured 🙏🇳🇱🏃🏻‍♂️⛰️🎉

Ps. And yes... even though I am not in their team...I ran with Zinal shoes 🙃

🏆 king of the Pyrenees (at least it felt like it for this weekend 🙂‍↕️)

The 80 km with 4400 m+ was a complete running dream once again ⛰️🎉🌄🏃🏻‍♂️

The nature, the people, the organisation and luckily my legs & mind made it exceptional 🙏

After three second places two years ago, now "a clean sweep" winning every stage. Besides being extremely proud of my 3 victories I am very happy to have shared km with other runners like and .mventura.

A great weekend with an extra motivation for all of you runners that like me have a family, work and a certain age 😅 that might make it hard to train a lot...just see what you CAN do and ENJOY 💪🏻🏃‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️❤️

The day before a race...

I love the day before a race ❤️! It is very important for me to get physically and mentally ready...

- I relax and enjoy the silence of being out of the city
- Being close to the start takes away any stress to not arrive on time on race day
- this is where the "ME-time" starts
- it's the perfect moment to go over the race plan with the latest weather forecast
- i can prepare my legs with some self massage and taping

And maybe most important it gives me time to be present feeling the GRATITUDE of living my life with the physical and mental capacity to enjoy (trail) Running 🏃🏻‍♂️⛰️🎉

Tomorrow its time 💥

Championship Trail Running the Netherlands 2025

What a great weekend once more at the 🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️🙏!

During the fifth edition of this beautiful race there was the option to participate in the 56 km for the "Dutch Championship long trail"

After my participation 2 years ago (15th place) in my second attempt to reach a top 10 spot I made it 😊:
- 10th place men
- 1 st place category

Mostly competing with (far) younger colleague runners I can't be happier with the result on this constantly changing course. It doesn't have a lot of m+ but with almost all trails being in the forest on typical Dutch walking & mountainbike tracks it was though 🙃😅

Now time to enjoy a nice week of recovery and then back to running happiness for the 3 days of ⛰️🎉

Dutch athlete .vanderveen is about to win the ...335 km with 28 km m+.

Not bad for someone from the "Lowlands" where the highest peak is 322 meters!!
After winning the world Championship in 2018 and the CCC another historic win for a Dutchie ⛰️🏃🏼‍♀️💪🏻🤞🏻
