There is one half of the month when my body asks for more care: from ovulation to menstruation. It is never simple. Yet over the years I have noticed a few habits that ease my pain, and I am happy to share them.
1 · Yoga, almost every day. Slow stretches for the psoas and the whole womb area. The poses that prepare hanumanasana work exactly there.
2 · Walking barefoot outdoors. When I live in a simpler, more natural way, I suffer less.
3 · Allowing myself pleasure. An or**sm is a deep release of inner energy. It melts the tension right where it builds up.
4 · No gluten. Pizza during my period means dreadful cramps down to my legs. On those days it is better to leave alcohol and inflammatory foods alone too.
5 · Breathing. I try to stay calm even in stressful moments. The state of the mind guides the state of the body.
Every body is different, and I can only speak for mine. If pain stops your life every month, do talk to someone who can examine you.
What have you noticed about your body?
