🤪👀 A cheeky little sneak peek of what we’ve been working on here at the reborn AsturyMamas.

We must say, it’s been quite a fun time finding our creative flow together. Lots of belly laughs and self-criticism that we are rising above together. We are learning to lean into the imperfection and gentleness of this season we are in as mothers, entrepreneurs, women, and friends 🤍🪷

Thanks for being here with us.

Perimenopause at 37

after baby number two

Not what I expected… but what ever is…!?

Let’s talk about it ⬇️

Are you counting down the days til you’re done or see this final transition (THAT MORE THAN 50% OF THE TOTAL POPULATION GO THROUGH BTW!!!) as a Rite of Passage?

Share your experience below

& if you have a spare half an hour snuggle down & listen to this chat with my Menopause expert friend, Kate, who lives in Valencia, & is now post-menopause.

We chat all things around identity shifts, brain fog, letting go, physical & emotional changes & reframe the whole thing as more than if you’re on HRT or not… because it really is!

This is a real spiritual transformation - so join the conversation here:

Well… here we are. 🤍

A new name, a new chapter, and a lot of excitement about what we’re creating together.

If you’ve been here for a while, thank you for coming along for the ride.

And if you’re new—hi! We’re Sarah + Rhea. 👋🏼

We’re two mothers with different and complementary professional backgrounds, a shared love of supporting women, and a slightly ambitious idea of creating the kind of community we wish every mother had around her.

But we’re also two mums trying to figure out something that I think a lot of mothers are asking themselves:

How do I build a life where I can be present for my children and make space for the work that lights me up?

We want to raise our children with intention. We want to be there for the ordinary, everyday pieces of their childhood. And we also want to keep growing, creating, learning and doing work that feels meaningful to us.

We don’t have it all figured out.

We’re writing our own stories as working mothers—and building this little community here in Asturias along the way.

That’s a big part of what AsturyMamas is about, too.

Not having motherhood perfectly figured out.
Not choosing between being a mother and being a woman with dreams, ideas, and work she loves.

But making space for all of it.

For pregnancy.
For birth.
For those early, blurry postpartum days.
For the identity shifts that nobody quite prepares you for.
For asking questions.
For learning.
For laughing.
For saying, “Is it just me?” and finding out it absolutely isn’t.

We’re so excited to see where this goes.

So let’s start by getting to know each other:

Where are you in your motherhood journey right now—and what brought you here? 🌿

We’ll go first… 👇🏼

We’ve all heard the messages about who we’re supposed to be after becoming mothers.

Get your body back.
Get back to work.
Get back into a routine.
Get back to yourself.

I’m getting tired of it. Of the comparisons and the expectations. Motherhood doesn’t really work that way.

At least it didn’t for me.

Motherhood broke me open.

It stretched me, challenged me, and pulled apart pieces of who I thought I was—my identity, my priorities, my relationships, my understanding of my own strength.

For a while, I tried to put myself back together exactly as I had been.

But I couldn’t.

Because I wasn’t meant to be the same.

So I began reconfiguring the pieces.

Keeping some.
Letting some go.
Discovering new ones.

And slowly, a new version of me began to emerge.

The woman I was before motherhood didn’t disappear. She’s still woven through me. But now she’s alongside the mother I’ve become—and the woman I’m still becoming.

I’ve stopped asking, “How do I get back to who I was?”

And started asking:

“Who am I becoming now?”

Maybe this is one of the great invitations of motherhood:

To grieve who you were.
To honor who you are.
And to make space for who you’re becoming.

You don’t have to put yourself back together the way you were.

You get to reconfigure the pieces.

Motherhood doesn’t just give us a child.
It is an opportunity to meet ourselves in an entirely new way.

Not a return.

A rebirth. 🌿

We built altars for distant male Gods in the sky.

The womb, woman, womban is the portal between realms.

We usher souls into breath and bone & yet we are shunned.
This is why we have been burned.

We have dimmed the light on the portal, on the Goddess that brings every human here.

Everyone has a Mother.

Maybe the way we treat Mothers is reflected by how we treat the universal Mother - our planet.

The way we diminish women is the same story as the way we diminish the Earth.

It’s time we rebuilt the altars to the Goddess & saw the divine in our Mothers.

Healed our relationships with our Mothers, with each other & Gaia.

Remember who you are - you are a literal Goddess ✨

✨There is a lot of birth preparation content that promises an outcome.

Do these exercises and your labour will be shorter.
Practice this position and your baby will be in the perfect position.
Use this technique and birth will be easier.

And while we absolutely believe that movement, breath, education, mindfulness, and practical preparation can be incredibly valuable...

Birth is not a formula.

No one can tell you exactly how your labour will unfold. And we don’t believe preparation should be about trying to control every possible outcome.

We believe it’s about something deeper.

Getting to know your body.
Understanding what is happening physiologically.
Learning tools you can draw on during pregnancy and birth.
Exploring what safety and support mean to you.
Identifying your needs, your fears, your hopes, and your desires.

And having the conversations that help the people around you understand how best to support you.

We can’t tell you exactly what your birth will look like, but we can help you prepare to meet it.

Not with a formula. Not with guarantees. And not by telling you that if you do everything “right,” birth will unfold a certain way.

But with knowledge.

With practical tools.

With space to tune into yourself.

And with the confidence to keep asking, listening, adapting, and making decisions as your experience unfolds.

Perhaps confidence isn’t about knowing exactly what’s coming but rather, knowing you don’t have to meet the unknown empty-handed.

Less telling you what to do. More helping you discover what you need.

That is the kind of preparation you’ll find here at AsturyMamas. 🤍

We often think confidence comes first.

That once we feel ready, we’ll feel less afraid.

But what if it happens the other way around?

What if confidence is something we build—slowly, gently, through the small ways we learn to meet ourselves when uncertainty arises?

Sometimes that looks like slowing your exhale when you notice yourself holding your breath.

Taking a walk and letting your nervous system settle in the rhythm of your body.

Placing your hands on your belly and simply noticing your breath and your baby.

Being intentional about the stories and information you take in, especially when fear can so easily be amplified.

Moving your body in ways that feel nourishing, safe and connected.

None of these things are about making fear disappear.

They are ways of saying to yourself:

I can be here with this.
I can listen.
I can choose what supports me.
I can keep moving forward.

Maybe courage isn’t the absence of fear.

Maybe it’s trusting that we don’t have to face it alone.

And perhaps that’s what preparation really is—not becoming fearless, but building a relationship with yourself that you can lean on when the unknown arrives. 🤍

What helps you feel more grounded when fear or uncertainty shows up?

✨Your body is doing a lot right now.

Growing a baby. Adapting. Changing. Preparing for something it has never done before.

And supporting your body in pregnancy isn’t always about doing more.

It also looks like giving yourself a few moments to notice:
How am I actually feeling? What do I need right now? What helps me soften?

These five practices are simple ways to start building that relationship with yourself—not because you need to “train” your body for birth, but because listening to your body is part of preparing for birth.

Try one. Leave the rest.

There’s no gold star for doing all five. 🤍

What if fear isn’t the enemy?
⸻

Fear is your nervous system asking: “Am I safe?”

Sometimes the answer isn’t certainty. It’s support.

The more we understand birth, the less our brain has to fill in the blanks.

The more we practice breathing…

Movement…

Relaxation…

The more familiar birth begins to feel.

Preparation doesn’t promise a perfect birth. It increases your capacity to meet whatever birth brings.

In our work, we don’t tell women to ignore fear. We make space for it and encourage you to get curious about it.

And together, we build confidence alongside it.
We’re so glad you’re here 🤍
