For my postpartum mamas - Core Awakening, live-online! We start 9 May and travel together for 5-weeks.

This is one of my favourite offerings that I started sharing in 2017. More than 500 women have journeyed through this program with me and each one has helped to evolve this offering even more - what I share in this course is invaluable when it comes to pelvic health, body awareness and connection to our core (in all its facets!).

Core Awakening is for the woman who has birthed a baby (weeks, months, years or decades ago) and is looking to reawaken her core - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. This program takes a holistic approach towards this re-integration and unfolding of who She is Becoming.

It IS so much about the physical core restoration AND about the more subtle aspects of our core being - who we are, who we are grieving, who we are awakening...

STARTS 9 MAY 2025

🌷Weekly Live Zoom Circle & Practice to address posture, breath, pelvic floor balancing and deep core stabilisation (addressing pelvic floor dysfunction and diastasis recti)
🌷Weekly Self-Tending Habits for the Heart
🌷Weekly Affirmations for the Mind
🌷Weekly Guided Meditations for the Spirit
🌷Community Connection with other Postpartum Women
🌷Private WhatsApp group for communication & connection
🌷replay access if cannot join live

Forget the baby shower gifts that go unopened — consider gifting a postpartum restorative course that is tenderly curated to meet this mama in her matrescence - one of the most important, impactful and significant processes of unfolding that she will likely encounter in her lifetime! 🌸✨🌸

As we have just celebrated International Women’s Day, I have been reflecting on the incredible potential of the prenatal yoga teacher to make a generational imprint. I do not mean this lightly, either.

The prenatal yoga teacher is standing at the doorway of immense empowerment for each mama that comes into her space, held within her guidance on the mat. It is an opportunity (and responsibility), not only to guide the practitioner back to themselves, but to offer seeds of empowerment for her journey of pregnancy, birth & parenting.

You don’t know what you don’t know! And this is often the sentiment of many pregnant women, especially pregnant for the first time.

So imagine — they might only hear in the prenatal yoga class that they actually have choices in the birth journey! Or that they can ask questions to their care provider! or that how they regulate their nervous system & how they prepare their body for birth can make a difference in the journey! Or that there is such a thing as a pelvic health physio, or that private childbirth education classes are not only essential, but are vastly different than hospital childbirth education! or maybe they hear the word ‘doula’ for the first time, or even hear about birth from the lens of empowerment & love rather than fear and factory settings.

And just imagine…those seeds ripen to shape the way she feels about her pregnancy / birth journey, that she potentially travels this bridge with empowerment, which shapes her confidence as a mother, which then influences the relationship with her child and forthcoming generations.

Are you ready to hold this space for women?

On my return trip to Singapore this November, I will share a series of 5 of my favourite workshops! Join for any or all 🌸

Grounded in her cyclicality and intuition, the Embodied Woman finds Yoga both on and off the mat, from menarche to menopause. In this 5-part series, we will explore the feminine as a means to enrich our yoga practice–through methods to cultivate pelvic health awareness, balance hormones and cycle-sync through menstruation, to understanding the 5 chambers of menopause and how we invite embodiment practices to support these rites of passages.

🌸 Nourishing the Pelvic Landscape: Optimising Pelvic Health for All Life Stages, Sat 16 Nov, 12:30pm - 3:30pm. Explore the wisdom of the pelvis, including our pelvic anatomy and physiology, our pelvic floor muscles and how to overcome pelvic floor challenges.

🌸 Yoga for Healthy Hormones, Sat 23 Nov, 12:30pm - 3:30pm. Understanding the female endocrine system and life stages of a woman through theory, discussion, embodiment and a healthy-hormone asana practice.

🌸 The Womb Wisdom of Yoga, Sun 24 Nov, 12:30pm - 3:30pm, exploring & embodying the four seasons of the menstrual cycle and how to reclaim autonomy, agency and empowerment through knowledge of feminine cyclicality.

🌸 The 5 Chambers of Menopause, Sat 30 Nov, 12:30pm - 3:30pm, exploring the 5 Chambers of Menopause through the lens of Yoga and embodiment, as a map for this rite of passage.

🌸 The Way of Wintering: Sun 1 Dec, 12:30pm - 3:30pm, exploring the concept of “Wintering”, a reframe surrounding the profoundness of rest and embodiment practices that support this process.
Welcome to attend any or all; open to women of all life stages.

All workshops held at Singapore. Join us!

24/08/2024

I love to work with affirmations - a form of self-talk that is empowering, supportive and can work at the level of the subconscious mind. However, in the context of pregnancy/labour/birth/postpartum, often times the affirmations that are shared are dripping with either positive toxicity or simply, are very much goal-oriented (quite a masculine way to work with self-talk!).

Regarding the birth journey, we can set ourselves up for failure when our self talk is goal-oriented…why? Because birth is not predictable. Neither is the pregnancy or postpartum. If our affirmations are only result-focused, then we have limited our possibilities for the deviation or the detour. This might mean that our or****ic, gentle birth ended up in an emergency C-section, and our affirmation that promised a serene birth leaves us with a sense of failure. Or it might mean when our affirmation promised that we could cope with the sensations on our own and we needed an epidural, that our body was not good enough.

Firstly, you cannot fail at birth.

And secondly, make your affirmations expansive! Let them carry an emotional-focus rather than a result-focus. In this way, the affirmation contains all possibilities while still remaining true, realistic and compassionate.

I love this one: “I trust in my own resilience”.

Because, you have the inner strength & softness to yield, persevere, and find your steps in however the process of birth unfolds for you.

💛💛💛💛💛💛

What expansive affirmations have been helpful for you?

🤰 Camel Pose & Pregnancy 🧘‍♀️

Ustrasana, or Camel Pose, is a nourishing asana, and can be beneficial in pregnancy, however this is one asana that I love to give a bit more caution. Here are some benefits of the pose and how to adapt for pregnancy (and postpartum), ensuring both comfort and safety:

Benefits
🌀 Stretches & opens the chest, shoulders, and hip flexors promoting better posture and breath.

🌀 Supports pelvic health by creating space in the lower abdomen

🌀 Enhances circulation & digestion

🌀 Relieves lower back pain by stretching the front body and encouraging a gentle extension in the spine.

🌀 Boosts emotional well-being through heart-opening

But these benefits are ONLY ACCESSIBLE if we modify the pose correctly!

Top tips to modify Camel Pose
🌸 Use props! to avoid overstretching the abdominals (which are already under incredible stress) place blocks under your hands (could be 1 or 2, or could be a bolster laid over the calves) to reduce the intensity of the backbend. Your hands should lightly touch the prop instead of dumping your weight. If no props, consider placing hands to either side of the sacrum for support.

🌸 Focus on lengthening through the spine and lifting through the chest, rather than pushing into the lower back. The focus is NOT BACKBENDING. Protect your abdominals, rib ligaments and any compression of the lower back.

🌸 Engage correctly - activate legs, place a block between thighs (if you have one) to help turn on adductors, lift through pelvic floor and gently draw baby in and up, to maintain stability throughout the pose.

🌸 Keep your hips over your knees so you are not dropping your weight into your hands.

✨Contraindications: Avoid reaching to your props (or heels) if you experience too much stress over the abdominals (stressing the already forming diastasis) or low back compression. Consider Cat-Cow Pose as a gentler alternative or lifting the chest upwards in a seated kneeling pose.
