π§ STROKE: TIME IS BRAIN! π¨
A stroke happens when blood flow to part of the brain is interrupted, depriving brain cells of oxygen and nutrients. Within minutes, brain cells begin to die β making it a medical emergency.

π Management of Stroke
π₯ 1. Emergency Care:
β’ Call for help immediately. Time is critical.
β’ Stabilize airway, breathing, and circulation (ABCs).
β’ CT or MRI scan is done urgently to differentiate ischemic from hemorrhagic stroke.
𧩠2. Ischemic Stroke Treatment:
β’ Thrombolytic therapy (e.g., Alteplase/tPA) β given within 4.5 hours of symptom onset to dissolve clots.
β’ Antiplatelet therapy (Aspirin, Clopidogrel) β after imaging confirms no bleeding.
β’ Control of blood pressure, sugar, and temperature.
β’ Treat underlying causes (atrial fibrillation, carotid stenosis, etc.).
π 3. Hemorrhagic Stroke Treatment:
β’ Stop bleeding and reduce brain pressure.
β’ Avoid blood thinners.
β’ Surgical evacuation may be needed for large bleeds or aneurysms.
β’ Strict blood pressure control.
π§ 4. Rehabilitation:
β’ Physiotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy help regain lost functions.
β’ Psychological and social support improve long-term recovery.
