Nekemte Comprehensive Specialized Hospital conducted a mid-year community forum & inaugurated the newly upgraded Emergency Room in the presence of distinguished guests, Nekemte Mayor Mr. Meseret Hayilu, Assistant Professor Melaku Getahun, Head of the Nekemte Town Prosperity Party Office, Mr. Sefu Gabire and Mr. Misgana Dessalegn from the Oromia Health Bureau (OHB), heads of various public sectors, Dr. Abebe Badasa, Chief Executive Officer of Nekemte Comprehensive Specialized Hospital, Dr. Gadisa Mulatu, Chief Clinical Officer (CCO), Hospital Board Members, the Management Team, SBFR Task Force, and Hospital Team Leaders.
During the forum, participants reviewed the hospital’s mid-year performance and visited major achievements, acknowledging existing strengths and identifying areas requiring further improvement. A strong consensus was reached to build on the hospital’s achievements, address the identified gaps, and strengthen collaboration with the Oromia Health Bureau, the community, the Hospital Board, and all hospital staff.
The discussion concluded with a shared commitment to enhance teamwork, ensure accountability, and uphold the hospital’s dedication to delivering high-quality, patient-centered health services.

Great News from Nekemte Comprehensive Specialized Hospital!

Congratulations to everyone!
A long-standing priority of our managers, staff, customers, and community has finally been achieved.
For many years, the Emergency Department has been a major barrier to providing clean, fast, and efficient healthcare services. Today, we are delighted to announce the opening of a newly arrival of Emergency Unit equipment. The new medical supplies arrived to the facility includes:
Adult and pediatric beds with mattresses
IV stands
Patient monitors
Ergonomic high-back managerial chairs
patient seating
And for the first time an Emergency Medicine Specialist
This milestone was made possible through the strong collaboration between our hospital

Nekemte Comprehensive Specialized Hospital Board held its first-quarter meeting for 2018, attended by the City Mayor (Mesert Hayilu). The board reviewed the hospital's positive performance, approved new regional health guidelines for immediate implementation, and agreed to collaborate with the city administration to build a community laboratory. The Board of Nekemte Comprehensive Specialized Hospital conducted its regular first-quarter meeting for 2018. The meeting was attended by the Nekemte City Mayor, Honourable Mesert Hayilu. Following a visit to several hospital departments, the board discussed the following agenda items:
1. Performance Review: The board reviewed the hospital's performance for the first quarter of 2018. They found the progress promising and directed management to continue the work vigorously.
2. New Oromia Health Bureau initiative: The board approved a set of draft guidelines from the Oromia Regional State for improving health facility standards. It was decided that the hospital would implement these guidelines immediately.
3. Community Laboratory Project: To address laboratory service challenges, the Nekemte City Administration and the Hospital Board agreed to jointly take over an initiative started by the Oromia Health Bureau. They will collaborate to build a community laboratory.

Nekemte Comprehensive Specialized Hospital is delighted to announce the successful installation of medical equipment, generously supplied by the Oromia Health Bureau.
The newly installed equipment includes:
1.Autoclave Sterilizer
2. Modern Operating Table (OR)
3. Additional new OR light installation is also on process.
This new equipment represents a vital step forward in modernizing our facilities and will enable our medical teams to deliver even higher quality care.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the Oromia Health Bureau for their unwavering commitment and crucial partnership. Their support has been instrumental in upgrading our healthcare infrastructure.
