Tax season in France is officially over... or at least it should be. 😄

I'm still working to get my tax treaty exemption entered correctly on my French tax declaration, which meant not one, but TWO trips to the tax office.

In my latest video, I share what happened when I finally got to meet with the most knowledgeable person in the office—and the cultural difference that stood out to me during the experience.

Come along for the ride as I drive through the beautiful countryside to Amélie-les-Bains and share the story along the way.

Sometimes the most interesting lessons about living in France come from the most ordinary errands.

Some exciting news—I'm now a regular contributor at International Living magazine! 🎉

This week I was in Perpignan filming my next video for them. Assuming everything cooperates in the editing room, it should be ready by the end of June.

why wanting more can feel selfish or unrealistic

These roundtables are some of my favorite things I offer because they’re not just conversations… they’re experiences.

Why is it SO hard to move through administrative processes in France? 😩🇫🇷

Honestly, I had forgotten just how frustrating it can be because for the last 4 years, I didn’t have to deal with renewing my resident card.

But now? I’m back in it.

Websites that loop you in circles. Confusing instructions. Logins that don’t work. The kind of experience that makes you wonder if you’re losing your mind. 😂

So on this week’s walk through Céret, I rant a little… but I also share some other updates from the last few weeks, including what I’m currently preparing for next here in France and a few moments that reminded me why I still love this life so much.

Because somehow, in France, frustration and beauty always seem to exist side by side.

This float seen at Carnaval in Céret last Sunday looks like Chester Cheetah. 🐆🧀 But is it? And if so, why?

After doing some research, I think it is!

Turns out that Cheetos only arrived in France on April 1, 2025. The version sold in the U.S. doesn’t meet EU food regulations, so they had to change the formula before launching them here.

I know I’m late to the party and my French friends probably think I’m behind the times (I admit it, I am 😅). Now I’m way too curious about the taste of French Cheetos so a taste test is definitely happening soon.

One of the perks of living where I live is the sense of community I feel here.

Last night my neighbor knocked on my door with a plate of chicken tenders. He was still in his uniform (he’s a chef at a Michelin-star restaurant in town), so at first I thought they were leftovers from the restaurant. But they were fresh and piping hot, he had just cooked them in his apartment. Maybe he was trying a new recipe.🤔

Whatever the case, I accepted them happily and thoroughly enjoyed them.

It’s unexpected gestures like this that make me feel like I truly belong here.
