You donโ€™t need to overhaul their diet.

You donโ€™t need to spend hours cooking.

And you definitely donโ€™t need to stand in the kitchen wondering whether banana, sardines, kefir, and parsley are about to become a good idea or a terrible one.

Sometimes, a better bowl starts with one simple extra.

A spoon of kefir for gut support.
A cooked egg for easy nourishment.
A splash of bone broth for moisture and flavour.
A little oily fish for skin and coat support.

Small additions.

But used properly, they can make an ordinary bowl much more useful.

Thatโ€™s what I love about bowl boosting.

It takes the pressure off trying to make the 'perfect' meal and gives you a simple way to add variety, moisture, flavour, and extra nutrition to the food your dog already eats.

No full diet change.
No complicated recipes.
No guessing what goes with what.

Thatโ€™s exactly what the ๐—•๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐˜ ๐—•๐—ผ๐˜„๐—น ๐—•๐—ผ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ž๐—ถ๐˜ helps with.

It shows you how to use the 3-Spoon Upgrade System to build simple bowl boosts from everyday fridge foods.

So instead of staring into the fridge hoping inspiration appears, youโ€™ve got a clear place to start.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Youโ€™ll find the ๐—•๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐˜ ๐—•๐—ผ๐˜„๐—น ๐—•๐—ผ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ž๐—ถ๐˜ via the link in the comments. ๐Ÿพ

One question I get asked:
'What should I do first if my dog suddenly gets itchy?'๐Ÿพ

The first thing is to have a proper look.

Not a panicky look while theyโ€™re wriggling around like a hairy crocodile.

A calm, useful look.

Where are they itching?

Paws?
Belly?
Armpits?
Base of the tail?
One small patch?
All over?

Then think about what happened before the itching started.

Were they in long grass?
Was it a hot day?
Have they had something new to eat?
New shampoo?
Flea bites?
New washing powder on their bedding?
Did they roll in something questionable, which is always a strong possibility?

Because itchy skin can come from lots of different things, and chucking every remedy at it usually isnโ€™t the best first move.

A simple first step is often to gently rinse or wipe the area, remove any obvious trigger if you can, and stop them making the skin worse by licking or scratching.

Then keep an eye on it.

Is it calming down?
Is it spreading?
Is the skin broken, hot, swollen, weeping, bleeding, or very sore?
Is your dog really uncomfortable or not themselves?

Thatโ€™s when itโ€™s time to stop guessing and speak to your vet.

This is exactly the kind of moment I had in mind when I created the

This monthโ€™s topic is Skin Reactions, Itch & Inflammation, and weโ€™re looking at what you can do now, plus what to have ready for later.

Because when your dog is uncomfortable, you donโ€™t need a hundred saved tips.

You need a clear first step. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿพ

Different wheels. Same Storm.

He may not be able to walk as far these days, but he's still determined to keep up with the gossip in the park!!

And judging by the speed of his nose, he approved of his new ride. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’š

As our dogs get older, we often focus on supplements, special diets, or supportive beds. But one of the biggest challenges can be right under their paws.

Hard, slippery floors can make senior dogs feel unsteady, especially if they have stiff joints, reduced muscle strength, or simply aren't as sure-footed as they once were. You might notice them hesitating before walking into the kitchen, taking corners more slowly, or choosing to stay in one room rather than moving around the house.

Over time, a couple of slips can knock their confidence, causing them to tense up and alter the way they walk, which can put extra strain on already hardworking joints.

Adding a few rugs, runners, or non-slip mats in key areas can make a surprising difference. It gives them traction, helps them move more naturally, and encourages them to carry on enjoying their normal routines.

Inside the Academy, each topic is split into two parts:

What can I do now?
and
What can I have ready for next time?

Thatโ€™s the part I care about.

Because when your dog is itchy, sore, licking, red, or reacting to something, you donโ€™t want a long list of things to research.

You want to know what your first sensible step could be.

Then, once everything has calmed down, you can learn what to keep on hand for the next time it happens.

Thatโ€™s how weโ€™re looking at ๐—ฆ๐—ธ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€, ๐—œ๐˜๐—ฐ๐—ต & ๐—œ๐—ป๐—ณ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป inside the Academy this month.

One simple remedy for the moment youโ€™re in.
One longer-term remedy to prepare for the future.

Itโ€™s made for dog owners who are new to natural first aid and want things explained clearly, without having to work it all out by themselves.

Useful now.
Useful next time.
One issue at a time.

Flea bites can leave some dogs so itchy.

Even once youโ€™re dealing with the fleas themselves, your dog may still be scratching, nibbling, or looking generally fed up with their skin.

And if youโ€™ve ever watched your dog twist themselves into a pretzel trying to reach an itchy spot, youโ€™ll know itโ€™s horrible to see.

Thatโ€™s why I made the ๐—ค๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ธ ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ณ ๐—š๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—™๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฎ ๐—•๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฒ ๐—œ๐˜๐—ฐ๐—ต.

It gives you 3 simple soothers you can make at home:

๐ŸŒฟ a calming herbal spritz
๐ŸŒฟ a soothing balm
๐ŸŒฟ a cooling gel

Nothing complicated.

Just gentle, beginner-friendly ideas to help support skin comfort while you deal with the flea problem properly.

Itโ€™s especially useful if you like natural dog care but donโ€™t want to stare at a cupboard full of herbs wondering what on earth to do with them.

The guide is free.

It only takes a minute, but a quick post-walk check can be a really useful habit to get into - especially during flea season.

When you're drying muddy paws or handing out a post-walk treat, take a moment to have a look at:

๐Ÿพ Between the paws
๐Ÿพ Along the belly
๐Ÿพ Under the armpits

These areas have thinner skin and can sometimes be the first places you notice flea bites, irritation, redness, or excessive scratching.

Of course, finding the occasional flea bite doesn't necessarily mean your home is about to be invaded! But spotting changes early means you can keep an eye on things and take action if needed.

Sometimes the best first aid tip isn't about what to do afterwardsโ€”it's simply noticing the little things before they become bigger ones. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿพ

This is Juneโ€™s Academy topic:

Skin Reactions, Itch & Inflammation

Each month inside the Academy, we take one first-aid issue and make it feel more manageable.

Not a huge herb course.
Not a pile of random tips.
Not 15 things to remember at once.

Just one topic, broken down step by step, with two simple remedies and clear guidance for what to notice.

This month is all about itchy skin, skin reactions, and inflammation - the sort of thing that can leave you staring at your dog thinking, 'Rightโ€ฆ what do I do now?'

Thatโ€™s what the Academy is here for.

Beginner-friendly.
Practical.
Two simple remedies for one issue at a time.
So you feel more prepared when your dog needs help.

Why not top your dog's dinner with a quail egg?

These tiny eggs pack quite a nutritional punch, providing protein along with vitamins and minerals to support overall wellbeing.

They're not an everyday essential, but they can make an ordinary meal feel a little more special - and let's be honest, our dogs do enjoy being spoiled from time to time.

Tiny egg. Big excitement.

Has your pooch ever tried quail eggs?
