What a fabulous day! 🧘‍♂️

We had the final retreat in the garden at Moulin Toucan yesterday. It was the perfect day of sunshine, blue skies, a wonderful group who brought the most beautiful energy. 🌿☀️

Restorative yoga, delicious vegan lunch, meditation, Qi Gong and a deeply relaxing sound bath session led by the talented Mel and Phil from .

Every group brings its own unique energy, and no two retreats are ever the same. That’s one of the things I love most about these days, creating a space where everyone can simply arrive, breathe, connect and be present. 🌳🧘‍♂️🌿

Feeling incredibly grateful to everyone who came and shared their energy, laughter and presence. 💚🙏🩵🙏💛

Started preparing lunch for tomorrow's yoga retreat which will be the last for this summer. I love preparing with a selection of freshly picked seasonal vegetables, mostly picked straight from the garden. 🧄🫑🫐🍊

Deep purple peppers, vibrant greens and bright reds, not all perfectly formed but all those wonderful wonky shapes that remind us that real food doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful, healthy and delicious.

A little taste of the garden on the plate. 💜🍊🥒🥕

So lovely to be back! 🧘‍♂️

Today YogaB classes started back in Rancon after our summer break, and what a wonderful welcome back it was!
The yogis created such a warm and friendly atmosphere, with lots of lovely chatter, laughter and catching up before and after our practice.

And what a treat we had afterwards! We enjoyed the first of many coffees and cake together in the new café in Rancon, Délices de Dee, with its delicious homemade scones, savoury treats and absolutely divine homemade cakes. 🍰☕️

What better way to finish a yoga session than chatting together, sharing a coffee and slice of cake in this local little café.

If you'd like to join this incredible friendly, supportive and relaxed group, we meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 10-11am in Rancon.
Every "body" is welcome.. 🧘‍♀️🌸

Some people leave behind a legacy that is so much bigger than their achievements.

Dolly Parton is a beautiful example of a life lived with kindness, generosity, authenticity and a genuine desire to lift others up.

From a life perspective, perhaps it’s not about how much we have, how successful we are, or how many people know our name. Perhaps it’s about how we show up with compassion, kindness, generosity and love.

Yoga teaches us that the practice doesn’t end when we step off the mat. It is how we treat others, how we serve, and what we leave behind.

Surely this is what we should be striving for: to leave a little more goodness in the world than we found. 🙏✨

What has brought you here?

That’s one of the first questions I ask when someone comes to see me for yoga or one-to-one training.

And so often the answer is:
“I want to lose weight.”
“I want to tone up.”
“I want to look better.”
“I want to get rid of this wobble.”

And I understand it. We’re constantly being sold the idea that our bodies are projects that need fixing.

Smoother skin. Smaller bodies. Fewer wrinkles. No stretch marks. No signs of childbirth. No signs of menopause. No visible evidence that time is passing.

But what if we stopped seeing ageing as something we have failed at?

Ageing is a privilege.

Wrinkles are not a flaw. They are evidence of a life lived.
Stretch marks can be evidence of a body that grew and carried life.
A softer belly may be the result of childbirth, hormones or simply time.
Menopause changes are not something to be ashamed of.
And even the things we sometimes try desperately to remove, like body hair, have biological purposes, including helping with temperature regulation.

We are not meant to be perfect.

We are meant to live.

So when I encourage you to get stronger, fitter, more mobile and more resilient, I don't want it to be because you are at war with your body.

I want you to have a body that allows you to run after your grandchildren.
Play on the floor with your children.
Climb a hill.
Get up from the floor with confidence.
Carry your shopping.
Go for long walks.
Travel.
Dance.
Laugh.
Keep doing the things that make your life yours.

That is the body I want you to invest in.

Not a body that looks perfect in a photograph but
A capable body that supports you in living life to the full.

So next time you're tempted by the latest “quick fix” promising to make you look younger, thinner, smoother or somehow better, pause for a moment and ask yourself:

Who is actually benefiting from this, me? or the huge industry making money from my insecurities?

Invest in your strength.
Invest in your mobility.
Invest in your health.
Invest in your wellbeing.
Invest in your inner peace.

And perhaps, instead of asking “How can I change my body?”

Ask:

“How can I care for this body so I can keep living the life I love?” ❤️💪🦵

Today we said goodbye to our beautiful black Labrador-Collie after nearly 12 wonderful years. Cancer had taken away his comfort, and the kindest gift we could give him was peace.

Many of you will know him well. He wasn't just our dog, he was part of our yoga family. Whether he was wandering through the garden during class, sneaking onto your mat, greeting you at retreats, or quietly lying beside us as we moved and breathed, he had a way of reminding us to be present, to slow down, and to simply be.

Yoga teaches us that life moves in cycles. We experience light and shadow, joy and sorrow, beginnings and endings. We know these truths, yet they never make saying goodbye any easier.

Today we're experiencing the most incredible loss while also feeling immense gratitude. Gratitude for every muddy walk, every wagging tail, every gentle nudge, every shared moment, and every memory that will stay with us forever.

Thank you to everyone who loved him. If you joined us in the garden, chances are he welcomed you too.

Rest peacefully, our big boy. You were deeply loved, and you will be sorely missed. ❤️🐾

:Everything in balance!

Today was the perfect reminder of that... a wonderful yoga session followed by delicious chocolate cake, coffee and chat. 🧘🍰☕

Balance isn't about being perfect, it's about enjoying movement, nourishing your body, making memories, and giving yourself permission to enjoy life's little treats guilt free.

So, in the spirit of practising what I preach, I'm keeping my own balance by taking August off to spend time with family, enjoy the summer, have a few adventures, and maybe sample a little more cake😉🍰

That means next week will be our final two yoga sessions before our summer break. I hope you'll join me as we finish this term together before we all take some well-deserved time to rest, recharge, and enjoy everything summer has to offer.

Thank you all for being part of such a lovely yoga community. Wishing you all a beautiful, balanced summer. 💛😎🌞

See you on the mat next week or on Tuesday, 1st September. 🙏

Social media is full of reasons to roll out your mat.

🧘‍♀️Better backs.
🧘Stronger core.
🧘‍♂️More flexible hips.
🧘‍♂️ Better balance.
🧘Weight loss.

And whilst all of those things can be great... is that really why you practice yoga?

Maybe you come because your back feels better.
Maybe it's the hour of peace in a busy week.
Maybe it's to move your body with kindness.
Maybe it's to feel stronger, steadier, calmer.
Maybe it's simply because you leave feeling more like yourself.
Maybe you enjoy the chat before or after class.

Those reasons are enough.

So today, instead of asking yourself "Why haven't I been to yoga class?"...

Ask yourself...

"How do I feel after yoga?"

If the answer is , then that's your reason.

On the days you don't feel like coming, remind yourself why you started.

It's about you.
Your body.
Your wellbeing.
Your future self.

And if life gets busy and you haven't been for a while, there's no guilt here, no explanations needed. Your practice is yours, and you're always welcome back whenever the time feels right.

well. well. well.💙💪💚🦵
