Outlining our Aim's:
- We aim to provide a safe, welcoming and informal space where men can come together, meet others & talk openly about anything that may be occurring in life.
- We aim to break down the idea that men have to deal with everything alone.
- Our aim is to create a community where nobody feels alone, nobody feels judged, and nobody feels they have to pretend everything is alright.

Our Objectives:
- 🤝 Bringing Men Together
Create a regular opportunity for men to meet, make connections & build friendships in a relaxed environment.
- 💬 Encourage Conversation
Make it easier for men to talk about the things that can be difficult to say out loud - without pressure to open up.
- 👂 Listen Without Judgement
Sometimes the most helpful thing you can do is listen. We want everybody to feel heard and respected.
- 🚫 Break Down Prejudice & Stigma
There is no place for judgement, discrimination, ridicule or prejudice. Everyone deserves to feel welcome.
- ❤️ Reduce Isolation
Whether you're surrounded by people or feeling completely alone, you're welcome here.
- ☕ Keep It Informal
Alnwick Men's Talk is not therapy, counselling or a support group run by professionals. It's simply men getting together, talking, listening & supporting one another.
- 💷 Keep It Accessible
There is no obligation whatsoever to buy a drink, food or anything else. Come along because you want to - not because you feel you have to spend money.

Alnwick Men's Talk Promise To You:
When you walk through the doors of Alnwick Men's Talk at the Fleece:
You will be welcomed. You don't have to know anyone. You don't have to be confident. You don't have to have something to say.
Just turn up. You won't be judged.
Whatever your background, circumstances or story, you will be treated with respect. You don't have to talk; you can talk, you can listen, you can sit quietly and observe. You can come along just to meet people; there is no pressure.
The most important aspect is that you feel comfortable being here. We ask everyone who attends to respect the privacy of others and not repeat personal stories or conversations outside of the group.
However, confidentiality can never be an absolute guarantee. If the group is made aware of a situation which leads us to believe somebody involved or a close family member or friend may or could be in immediate danger, we may need to seek the necessary and appropriate help.
We will listen without judgement and expect the same from everyone who attends.
No bullying.
No discrimination.
No belittling of vulnerability.
No personal attacks.
Everybody who attends will get the same level of respect.

In Closing:
Please do not attend a session of Alnwick Men's Talk with any prior judgement.
It is ok to not have all of the answers. It is alright if you are not ok all of the time. And if you wish not to face a situation alone, that is also ok.
Come as you are.
Talk if you want.
Listen if you want.
Stay for five minutes or stay for the night.
