š«Everyday Mindfulness š«
All week weāve been foraging after weāve eaten our tea and we had such a haul of blackberries that we decided to make jam.
There were so many mindful moments along the way, I really wanted to share this with youā¦
š« we needed lots of fruit for jam, couldnāt just go out once and think that would do the trick. Just like mindfulness, you canāt do one session and think ta-da I am now mindful. It takes consistency, practice, moments.
š« We dropped two tubs of berries all over the floor. This helped us (me āŗļø) to practice PATIENCE. Getting angry wouldnāt achieve anything! Working together we collect the berries and giggled as we did it.
š« the jam was not ready after a 10 minute rapid rolling boil like the recipe suggested. We had to TRUST the process.
š« noticing moments and being present - the true essence of mindfulness. No distractions, just us outside, picking berries, hearing sounds, tasting fruit, chatting merrily. Not scrolling, not watching TV.
You donāt necessarily need more time to practise mindfulness.
You just need to notice the time you already have.
And honestly, if mindfulness also ends with homemade blackberry jam on toast, Iām very much on board š
