My Monday morning meditation was all about joy.

Not the big obvious kind. The everyday kind that’s easy to walk straight past.

The light coming through the trees. A flower you hadn’t noticed before. That first cup of tea while everything is still quiet.

Small ordinary things that are easy to miss if your head is somewhere else.

But when you start looking for those moments, you find them just because you’re paying attention.

Today’s reel is a little collection of moments that made me pause. Nothing dramatic. Just nature doing what it does.

What’s one small thing that’s made you smile today?

This week and next will see thousands of young people open an envelope that they’ve been thinking about for months.

A level results Thursday. GCSEs next week.

And whatever is in that envelope, whether it’s everything they hoped for or something that feels like the ground shifting beneath them, they are going to need support from the people around them.

If the results are good, celebrate. Fully and wholeheartedly.

If the results aren’t what they hoped for, please, before anything else, before problem solving or next steps or silver linings, just be with them in it.

Don’t minimise. Don’t rush to fix. Don’t tell them it doesn’t matter when right now, to them, it feels like it matters enormously.

Just sit with them. Let them feel what they feel. Show them that your love and your pride in them has absolutely nothing to do with what’s on that piece of paper.

If your young person is dreading this week, or already struggling with the anxiety of waiting, I work with teenagers and young people on exactly this. Managing uncertainty, regulating anxiety, building the self belief that isn’t contingent on outcomes.

Drop me a message if you’d like to find out more.

We spend a lot of time thinking about what children need.

The right school. The right activities. The right opportunities. The right grades. And those things matter. But they aren’t the foundation.

The foundation is something that doesn’t show up on a CV or a school report. But something that shapes absolutely everything.

What a child really needs is to feel safe.

Safe enough to be themselves. Safe enough to get things wrong. Safe enough to feel big feelings without fear of what happens next.

They need to feel seen.

Not just when they’re performing well or behaving well. But when they’re struggling. When they’re difficult. When they don’t quite know how to say what’s going on inside.

They need to feel heard.

Really listened to. Not fixed, not dismissed, not told how they should feel. Just heard.

They need connection over correction.

A relationship that can hold the hard moments without fracturing. Children don’t learn from people they fear, they learn from people they trust.

And they need the language and the tools to understand themselves.

To name what they feel in their body. To recognise when they’re climbing the ladder. To know that all of their emotions are valid and none of them will last forever.

None if this costs money or requires perfection. They just require your presence 🤍

Which of these resonates most with you?

Summer can bring its own kind of pressure, whether you’re managing your own workload and wellbeing, juggling childcare in the holidays or supporting a child through transitions or exam stress.

This summer I’m running online sessions offering 1:1 mindfulness support for individuals, child & parent sessions, and practical tools for anxiety, emotional regulation, and transitions.

In my parent and child sessions I work with children and young people to:
•Understand what anxiety feels like in their body
• Build practical tools to regulate their emotions
• Develop the self awareness and confidence to navigate hard things

And I also work with you as a parent, because knowing how to support your child’s wellbeing, without taking on all of their worry yourself, is just as important.

Sessions are online so there’s no travel, no waiting rooms, just a calm, supportive space from the comfort of your own home.

If you’d like to find out more, I offer a free, no obligation, call to chat about your needs and whether I might be the right fit.

Drop me a message here or send an email to [email protected]

l’d love to hear from you.

I took this photo when I was on holiday and it really made me smile. A cat and a cockerel chilling out on a wall beside the beach. And why not?

It’s easy to chill and take time, just to be, when you’re on holiday but maybe the trick is to do the same on ordinary days.

A few minutes, without a screen, no agenda, nothing to achieve or get right - just noticing what’s around you and how you feel.

Find some time to chill today and see what you notice 😎
