Is your inner critic running your life?
That voice that tells you you're not doing enough, not clever enough, not good enough, however hard you try. It has an opinion on almost everything you do, and it rarely has anything kind to say.
Most of us carry a version of this voice, and it often started as protection.
Somewhere along the way it learned that criticising you first might stop others from doing it, or that pushing you harder might keep you safe from failure or judgement, it made sense once, but that doesn't mean it still serves you now.
The relationship with that voice can change, you can learn to notice it without believing everything it says, and to respond to yourself with the same understanding you'd offer someone you cared about.
If that inner voice has been running the show for a while, get in touch for a free chat and let's start turning the volume down.

Running on empty isn't something to push through... it's a sign that something needs to change.

It's easy to keep going because that's what's expected of you, even when you're operating on fumes and everything feels harder than it should.
Pushing past that feeling doesn't make it disappear, it just teaches you to carry it a little longer, a little further, until it starts showing up in ways you can't ignore.

Rest isn't a reward you earn once everything else is done. It's something you're allowed to need now, before you're completely depleted.
Recognising that you're running on empty is often the first step towards actually refilling the tank.

If this feels familiar, I'm here whenever you're ready to talk it through.

Taking the step to reach out for support can feel like a big decision, especially if you've never spoken to a counsellor before.

Whether you're carrying stress that feels harder to shake off than it used to, working through anxiety that's started to affect your daily life, or simply wanting space to understand yourself a little better, counselling offers a place to slow down and be properly heard.

Sessions are shaped around you, your pace, and what matters most in your life right now, rather than following a fixed formula.

Emotional healing and personal growth rarely happen overnight, but having the right support alongside you can make all the difference to how that journey feels.

If any of this resonates, message me today to find out more or to book a session.

Are you comparing your everyday to someone else's highlights...

Scrolling through feeds full of smiling faces, exciting news, and picture-perfect moments has a way of making your own ordinary day feel like it's falling short, but it's worth remembering that what you're seeing is only ever a small, carefully chosen slice of someone's life, never the whole picture.

The tired mornings, the quiet worries, and the messy bits rarely make it into the frame.

Your everyday, with all its ups and downs, is real in a way that a highlight reel simply isn't, and comparing the two will only ever leave you feeling like you're missing something that was never actually there to begin with.

If you're finding it hard to feel settled in your own life lately, I'm here to help you work through that.

There's an insinuated pressure to be "over it" by now... whatever "it" is for you.

Maybe it's been months, maybe years, and you still find yourself thinking about it more than you'd like to admit.

That doesn't mean you're doing it wrong, healing was never meant to follow a straight line or fit inside a deadline, no matter how much we might wish it did.

Some days will feel lighter than others, and some will catch you off guard completely, both are part of the process, not signs that you've failed at it.

Give yourself the same patience you'd offer a friend who was finding things hard... you deserve that too.
If you're ready to talk things through, I'm here whenever you need me.

Therapy isn't just for crisis.

Many people think they should only seek therapy once they've reached breaking point, in reality, you don't have to wait until things become overwhelming.

Therapy can help you manage stress, improve confidence, build healthier relationships, cope with life changes, or simply understand yourself better. Looking after your mental wellbeing is just as important as looking after your physical health.

Whether you're facing a specific challenge or simply want to invest in your emotional wellbeing, I'm here to support you.

Get in touch today to book an appointment, or just to ask any questions that might help you decide.

When was the last time someone really listened to you?

In our busy lives, we're often expected to keep going, to solve problems, and to support everyone else around us, without much thought for who's supporting us in return.

Therapy isn't about being told what to do or handed a list of solutions, it's about having a space where you can explore your thoughts, understand your emotions, and find your own way forward, with professional support alongside you.

If you're looking for someone to listen without judgement, I'd be happy to help. Contact me today to discuss how counselling could make a positive difference in your life.

Things you don't have to feel guilty about:
Saying no.
Taking time to rest.
Investing in yourself.
Protecting your peace.
Asking for help.
Not replying immediately.
Taking a break from social media.

None of it makes you selfish... it makes you human.

So much of people-pleasing comes from believing our worth is tied to how much we give, how available we are, how little space we take up; but needing rest isn't weakness, having limits isn't letting people down.

You're allowed to take care of you, without justifying it to anyone.

Personal growth isn't betrayal.

As you grow, things shift... your needs, your boundaries, what matters to you.

That's not something to feel guilty about. It's just what happens when you keep growing.

Sometimes relationships change alongside you, people drift, dynamics shift, distance grows. It doesn't always mean someone's done something wrong, sometimes it's simply two people growing in different directions.

You're allowed to outgrow things, and you're allowed to change your mind, your priorities, your path. That's not disloyalty... it's just being human.

If a relationship feels different than it used to, that's worth sitting with gently, not judging harshly.

If you're finding it hard to adjust to these shifting dynamics, you don't have to navigate it alone, reach out for a chat about how counselling could help.

Most of us have an inner critic, and sometimes it can be loud.
"I'm not good enough."
"I'll probably fail."
"Everyone else is coping better than me."
Sound familiar? You're not alone.

But here's something worth sitting with… those thoughts aren't facts, they're patterns, and patterns can be changed.

In counselling, we gently explore where those voices come from, and work together to build a kinder, more balanced way of seeing yourself and the world around you.

Imagine if you spoke to yourself the way you speak to someone you love. With patience. With understanding. With compassion.
You deserve that same kindness. From yourself. 💙

If you're curious about how counselling could help, I offer a free, no-commitment consultation, just a quiet space to talk and see if it feels right for you.
