It's almost September. Though in your house, it's felt like September for a while already. ๐ฟ
This one is for the parent who has done everything right โ and it still didn't work.
The one who read every book, attended every meeting, sent every email.
Who fought for the EHCP, the support plan, the adapted timetable.
Who researched low demand parenting and tried every morning strategy and bought the right breakfast and stayed calm when they absolutely didn't feel calm.
Who watched their child deteriorate anyway.
Who sat in a school office and heard "we haven't noticed any difficulties here" when their child was falling apart at home every single night.
Who has spent the summer quietly recovering โ and is now, this week, feeling that recovery slowly unravel as September approaches.
You did not fail your child.
A system that wasn't built for your child failed your child. That is not the same thing.
And the fact that you are still here โ still preparing, still advocating, still bracing yourself to do it all again โ says something important about you that no school meeting has ever named.
You are extraordinary. Even on the days โ especially on the days โ that don't feel like it.
September is coming. And so is support, if you need it.
Whatever this term brings โ you don't have to carry it alone. ๐
