My last reel clearly touched a nerve
and it was interesting to witness how many people immediately heard "women are the problem" when that was never the conversation I was trying to have.

This isn't about judging women at all, our choices or what brings us pleasure, joy or comfort. It's about getting curious about the bigger picture. The messages we absorb and the version of femininity we are constantly sold.

Questioning the system is not blaming women.

It's asking better questions and that's the conversation I want to keep exploring here, so if you're interested in conversations around culture, conditioning, femininity and reclaiming our power, follow along 🤍

I'm interested in what you think,

I've been reflecting on the current wellness trend to talk about around women's cycles and the supposed cosmic sync up and other explanations that have spread online quicker than wildfire...

Wonder and discernment can exist together and not everything needs a cosmic explanation to be sacred...but the algorithm likes it because this kind of content gets more comments from people searching for connection to something bigger and for the answers to life's mysteries

What many people aren't commenting on is, our bodies are already intelligent, our cycles are already connected to nature, to the earth's cycles because we are one and the same.

And June saw the solstice, peak light on the northern hemisphere, peak dark in the southern... It is typical to see cycle shifts here, it is biological...and if you chart you will notice this year on year! There was some peak lunar action too, again, lots of light to realign our bodies rhythms, not cosmic energy that is mysterious.

Now I'm not 100% disputing there could be something more mystical at play. I believe in magic for sure...but let's stay curious, ask questions and be mindful of what we share and what we consume as fact...

And if you have a difference in opinion or thoughts you'd like to share, let's have a conversation in the comments, I'm open 👇🏻

I've been sitting with this idea all week...
That there is a difference between community and belonging AND how much our sense of belonging can shape the choices we make!

Sometimes we step away from things because, deep down, we know they aren't right for us and sometimes we protect ourselves from the possibility of rejection by deciding we won't belong before we've even given ourselves the chance 🤷🏻‍♀️ It is such a human thing to do.

We are wired for connection, but our experiences and fears can sometimes convince us something isn't for us before we’ve even tried. Community matters, we need spaces where we feel seen, supported and accepted by others, but belonging is a little different.

For me... belonging is about feeling comfortable enough within yourself that you can step into something new without needing to know exactly how everyone will receive you. Then noticing...does this space meet me as I am?

Exclusion does hurt & being accepted matters, but so does trusting yourself enough to show up, explore and listen to what your body is telling you after the fear subsides...

You are allowed to change your mind, you are allowed to leave, you are allowed to stay.

I’d love to know your thoughts 👇🏻 let's have a conversation

Sunday was all kinds of special.
I know I said this yesterday, but there is still so much to say. It felt so natural and incredible to be back in the depths of this work.

In the run up, I definitely pushed my co creator Rach to plan in detail (as I always do for my ex-teacher, neuro spicy brain 😂).

But once the circle began, I felt myself letting go of the need to hold every single moment and honestly, what a relief. The night before, I had very clearly told my beautiful bestie that my focus was going to be creating spaciousness. Not filling every minute and not pouring every ounce of my energy into controlling outcomes. Not trying to do everything possible, so that every person got "value for money".
But allowing, trusting and being present.
And frankly, with a period that was seven days overdue, I was exhausted before we’d even begun, so my body wasn’t exactly giving me the option to overdo it anyway 🩸 IYKYK.

Through my reflections since, I’ve realised that after five years of creating spaces for women to gather, I understand something more deeply now: often the deepest offering isn’t what we add or control.
It’s what we allow, what we trust and what we make space for.

And this photo of me in the kitchen, all sweaty, joyful, fully present might just be my favourite reminder of that. I love this work so very much. And I have so many ideas for future spacious spaces I’m excited to create...

6 whole years since my beautiful Mum died. As I reflect, I see a rite of passage SO clearly now.

Not in the romanticised way we talk about growth & transformation. Not because I am grateful she died, I’m not. It left a hole in my life that will never be filled.

I still miss her voice, advice, her fierce tending & sharp tongue. I miss being someone’s daughter in the way only she allowed me to be. But crossing that threshold changed me.

I was no stranger to loss.Dad died when I was 9 and I watched grief move through my family then.

I saw mum carry her own loss whilst trying to survive the demands of everyday life;a widowed parent of 2. I watched what happens when there isn’t enough space or permission to fully tend to grief. How it settles in & quietly shapes a life.

Around that time, I made a promise: if life ever brought me back here, I would meet it differently. Not by avoiding pain, not by pretending I was fine but by letting it move through me.

At the time Mum died, I was a new mother myself.I was unhappy and unfulfilled in my teaching career & disconnected from myself. Exhausted by the system.

Something in me already knew I couldn’t continue as I was, then life intervened.

The world had already begun to shift. Lockdowns were just lifting and everything familiar was already shifting.

And in the months after she left, something new sprouted.

I found circle work & art journaling.I trained as a cycle coach, deepened my relationship with spirit, nature, body and wisdom I had spent years overlooking.

I moved house, left teaching. I began walking the path that became the work I offer today.

What strikes me most 6 years on, is how little space we are given to honour these moments.

Not just grief but all rites of passage.Birth, Death, First bleeds, Motherhood, Menopause. All of life’s becoming and unbecoming.

We are taught to carry on, to return to 'normal'. To get back to who we were.

But nothing in me returned & I don’t think it’s meant to. Grief and life now move side by side and I'm richer for it. The depth of my love is the depth of my pain. Both things true at once.

I still miss her and I am still here & evolved having stepped willingly through.
