🌻 Sunshine on a rainy day 🌧️

Sometimes we don’t need the whole sky to be blue. Sometimes one little bit of sunshine is enough.

A locally picked sunflower on a rainy day, a little reminder that even when things feel grey, there is still beauty, growth and something worth noticing right in front of us.

You can’t always change the weather, but you can choose what you look for in it. 💛

There’s always a little sunshine to be found, even on the rainiest days. 🌻

This morning, walking along the beach with Dalton my Granddog I found myself paddling in the sea.

It struck me that if I didn’t have Nana duties and Dalton hadn’t needed his walk, I probably wouldn’t have been there at all.

That made me wonder…

Maybe it’s not that I struggle with commitment. I commit to my work, my family, my friends and the people I care for.

What I often struggle with is committing to myself.

How many times do we put ourselves at the bottom of the list?

We cancel our walk, delay our rest, put off doing something that would make us feel good, simply because nobody else is relying on us.

Real self-care isn’t about bubble baths or treats, it’s about making promises to ourselves and keeping them.

What’s one small commitment you could make to yourself this week and keep? 🌊 😊

Intergenerational trauma or experiences are like a rock passed from hand to hand through generations. Healing begins when one person decides to put the rock down.

Did You Know?

Your nervous system can’t always tell the difference between a real threat and an imagined one.

That’s why simply thinking about a stressful situation can make your heart race, your muscles tense, or your stomach churn.

🌿 Try this:

Pause for a moment and notice what is happening in your body right now.

Are your shoulders tense or relaxed?

Is your jaw tight or soft?

Can you feel your feet on the floor?

Take a slow breath in and a gentle breath out.

There is nothing to change or fix.

Simply notice.

⚽️ The World Cup 2026 is here ⚽️ Did you know that domestic abuse victims who remain in a relationship with their abusive partners can face increased risk? It is also more difficult to call the Police or specialist services for help and/or support. Please familiarise yourself with the process to make a silent call for help by following the below link to a information video on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWDRR6qgszE
