Searching for needles in the sea helps us to release tight hamstrings and lower back muscles. A beautiful, rhythmic movement that takes the mind to the beach….

Yellow Dragon Pushing Out With Claws conjures up fiery energy shooting out the finger tips during this practice… a powerful exercise to invigorate the mind

This exercise can take a little while to master, but the beauty of my classes if that it doesn’t matter if it takes you years. This is a great exercise for improving balance and leg strength as well as core and shoulder mobility

This beautiful movement is one of my favourites for perfecting our posture and improving our balance. One that can take your mind away to a mystical time of dragons and slayers…

At some point in your practice, you may begin to be aware of the energy between your palms. This can be a powerful sensation for some people, but for others it can take time to begin to feel any sensation. Patience and practice is key to playing with the energy field.

I had a conversation today about planning an event of Tai Chi in the Sunflower fields for next summer… what a beautiful place to practice balancing our Qi… are you up for it?

My approach to coaching Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi is a relaxed and informal one. While we work on technique intermittently, I don’t walk the room studying your form and tweaking your hand positions to perfection each session. I’m much more interested in helping you to find pleasure in the gentle movements, gaining confidence with repetition and then occasionally we work as a group on improving form to make the practice a bit more skilled. The beauty of this practice is that we have a lifetime to perfect it, so why not just learn to relax and enjoy the feeling of flowing together, and then improve and tweak the more comfortable you feel in the class. Makes sense to me 😊💛

We were blessed with beautiful weather for our practice in nature this evening at the Sherfield Park Community centre. Thank you to everyone whom came along to join me for Tai Chi and then later, the rest of the Sherfield Park Community Centre Team for the Pub Night Event. We are very lucky to be looked after so well by our lovely Louise Grainger, who organises all the events and keeps the centre ticking over for our classes and all the other activities. She’s a total gem 💎
We resume again at the centre in September on Fridays at 6.15pm. To join us, Google Sherfield Park Community Centre and send them a message.
