This week, we enjoyed a wonderful talent show performed by five Brownies from Girlguiding Bath. It was lovely to learn about the badges they have earned and compare them to our own memories of being Brownies and Cubs. The girls also spent time chatting with residents, sharing stories and experiences, making it a truly special afternoon. 🎭👏🏅🤎😊

🐦🌿Our Gardening Club had great fun this morning making bird feeders for the colder months ahead! Using lard, bird seed, pine cones and twine, residents got wonderfully messy while creating treats for our feathered friends. With the help of gardening volunteer John, they then placed some of their handmade feeders around the garden for the birds to enjoy. 😊💚🐦

🌍✨ We just love it when residents share their stories and experiences. Today, John took us on a fascinating journey with his presentation, "10 Days on the Nile", sharing memories and photographs from his travels along one of the world's most famous rivers. Thank you, John, for bringing your adventure to life and taking us all along for the journey! 🚢📖💙

🌍🎶 Celebrating Black History Month at Stratton House! 🖤

What a wonderful few days we’ve had!...

Our lovely carer and resident songbird Camy, together with her husband Wima & their son, filled our home with music, performing songs in English and Sri Lankan. 🎤🎶☺️

We then travelled to Ghana through the stories of our wonderful carer Esther, who looked beautiful in her colourful Kente. Esther shared so much with us about her home country, and we all came away having learnt a great deal about Ghana and its culture. ❤️💛💚

📖 Our chaplain Rupert also led a special poetry session dedicated to Black History Month, giving us time to listen, reflect and celebrate together. 🖤

A lovely celebration of music, culture, poetry and learning. 🎶🌍📖❤️

A wonderful reunion at Stratton House 💕
We were delighted to welcome Dame Mary Berry this morning to visit our lovely resident Bridget. Dame Mary and Bridget went to school together in Bath, but Bridget had no idea her old friend was coming to see her!

They spent a lovely time chatting and reminiscing together, with Bridget saying:
“Such a wonderful and lovely surprise to see an old friend again.” ☺️☕💐🌞

The visit was organised by Richard Bush from Rotary Club of Bath & Stratton House Activities Coordinator Louise Gascoigne.
