Stratton House care home in Bath is marking the arrival of Care Home Open Week 2026 with plenty of fun activities including a sing-a-long and football-themed games.

From Monday 15th June to Friday 19th June, the home has one or more activities lined up for both visitors and residents.

Everyone is welcome to join these events:

🤓 Mon 15th at 2pm: Reading and poetry group
⚓ Tue 16th at 2.15pm: Talk by Tony Coverdale on ‘The Admiralty of Bath’
🤔 Wed 17th at 11am: Word puzzle & quiz
🙏🏽 Thu 18th at 11am: Church service
🎶 Thu 18th at 2pm: Sing-along with Emma from Golden Oldies
🙆🏽 Fri 19th at 11.15am: Seated exercise to music
⚽ Fri 19th at 2.15pm: Football-themed fun & games

Care Home Open Week is an annual event, organised by Championing Social Care, aims to connect care homes with their local communities, showcasing the positive work of the care sector and providing opportunities for the public to visit and learn more about care homes.

Lots of smiles here over the past few days! 😄🌞
We enjoyed a brilliant comedy act from Adrian 🎤, got creative in Gardening Club with clay impressions 🌿, had fun games of Scrabble & Jenga under the umbrellas, and enjoyed walks admiring all the pretty flowers in bloom 🌸🌼. Plenty of laughs, ice cream, and cold drinks all round! 🍹😁🍦🎲

Feeling so proud to see some of our residents’ artwork displayed in a pop-up exhibition at The Holburne Museum Bath this past bank holiday weekend 🎨☺️🌞
Inspired by Zandra Rhodes and her amazing creations, it was truly special to see their creativity showcased in such a beautiful setting! 💖

We enjoyed a really interesting talk today from Ian Parkes of Bath Spa University , all about “The Action Factory”—the former Herman Miller Factory, now part of the university. A fascinating insight that everyone enjoyed! 😊

Later, we got creative in the garden during our arts & crafts session, using flower 🌸 and butterfly 🦋 stencils, and some of us even enjoyed an ice cream in the Botanical Garden 😁🍦🌿🌞—a lovely way to spend the afternoon!

This afternoon, some of us enjoyed a wonderful day out for a pub lunch at New Inn Farmborough 🍽️🍻🍽️😁
Lovely food, great company, and plenty of smiles all round – a truly enjoyable afternoon! 😊💛

🎶 What a musical week at Stratton House! We enjoyed another brilliant performance from the charming singer Dave & talented pianist Tony 🎹. We also welcomed Emma from 'Golden Oldies', who had us all singing along to favourite songs from the past❤️🎤🎶😊

We’ve been celebrating Pam & Harry’s birthdays today🎉🎂 (with cake of course!). It’s been a wonderful day, made even more special by Sue’s fascinating talk about Orkney, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed—and the garden is looking beautiful too 😁 🌼🌿🌺🌹😊

Today we marked VE Day with a lovely fish & chips lunch, served in nostalgic style, with refreshing Pimm’s 🐟🍟🥂 and delicious scones with jam & clotted cream 🍓 Following this, we shared wartime memories and enjoyed a sing-along to classic songs – a truly special afternoon 🎶🎤☺️
