STUDENTS & YOUNG PEOPLE — I NEED YOUR EARS, YOUR EXPERIENCE, AND YOUR HONEST FEEDBACK. 🎧
FocusZen Code is an independent experimental music architecture project. One of the things I want to understand is whether positive messages embedded in song lyrics can have any meaningful effect on young people over time — not after listening once, but after repeatedly experiencing the music as part of normal everyday life.
The lyrics use simple messages connected with calm, focus, self-control, resilience, action and personal agency. But I don’t want to assume they work simply because they were designed with a purpose.
I want you to help me test whether they actually do.
I’m looking for students and young people willing to independently listen to selected FocusZen Code tracks for around one month — while studying, travelling, relaxing, dealing with stress, struggling to focus, or simply whenever you would normally listen to music.
I’m not looking for “yeah, nice track”. 😆 I need the useful stuff.
What helps? What gets annoying? What distracts you? Which sounds work and which don’t? Do particular lyrics stay in your head? Do you ever remember those words later, when the music isn’t playing? Does a track help you focus, calm down or start doing something? Do you notice absolutely no difference? That is valuable information too.
And most importantly: after a month, do you notice anything that wasn’t there at the beginning?
Your feedback would directly influence what I change, remove, strengthen or redesign in future FocusZen Code tracks.
FocusZen is a small independent project. I don’t have a university research team or a large budget that allows me to hand this work over to specialists. Independent testing therefore matters enormously to me because it gives me something I can’t create on my own: real observations from the people the project is actually intended for.
And that’s probably the most important part.
This project isn’t really about me.
It’s about you — and potentially the young people who come after you.
Rather than sitting somewhere and deciding what young people should need, I’d rather ask young people themselves.
You don’t need to prove that FocusZen Code works.
You just need to help me find out whether it does. 🎧
