What a day!☮️💖🎶

Yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of sponsoring Dunstable Town Council's annual 'Big Lunch' and spending the day meeting so many wonderful local residents.

The atmosphere was incredible, but what really stuck with us was hearing how much days like this mean to people. We lost count of the number of times we heard, "I'd just be sat at home otherwise."

Community is so important, and we're really proud to have played a small part in bringing people together.

A huge thank you to the amazing team at Dunstable Town Council for organising such a special event - keep your eyes peeled, we've got lots more photos and videos to share soon 👀🎶

Last week, at the Carers Café in Milton Keynes, we had the pleasure of meeting an Age UK Milton Keynes Handyperson.

We talked about the huge difference their service makes for over 55s who may struggle to keep on top of practical jobs at home. The range of support they offer is incredible:

🔧 Small repairs – putting up curtain rails, shelves, pictures, and other everyday fixes

🛟 Safety measures – fitting smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, and grab rails

🔐 Home security – installing door and window locks, door chains, and door viewers

💡 Energy efficiency checks – adding draught excluders, radiator reflectors, and energy‑efficient bulbs

But what really stayed with us was that the biggest benefit perhaps isn’t the repairs, it’s the trust. Knowing the person who comes to your home is safe, reliable, and not going to scam you brings enormous peace of mind.

At Good Life Sorted, we see every day how much these small acts of support can transform someone’s confidence and independence. It was inspiring to meet another service so committed to dignity, safety, and genuine care in our community.

A huge thank you to Age UK Milton Keynes for the warm welcome and for everything you do for carers and older people. Carers Week reminds us how strong our local network is.

Today we'd like to shine a light on the incredible work of Headway Bedford✨

For over 40 years, Headway Bedford has been supporting people living with acquired brain injuries, including stroke survivors, as well as providing support to their families and carers. Through rehabilitation, therapy services, practical support, social activities and advice, they help people rebuild confidence, independence and quality of life following a life-changing injury.

We know first-hand how important organisations like Headway are within our community, and we're proud to work alongside them.

Thank you to the whole team for the support, guidance and opportunities you provide to so many local people and families across Bedfordshire 💚

If you'd like to learn more about Headway Bedford and the services they offer, please visit their website https://www.headwaybedford.org.uk/ or give them a call on 01234 310310.

At Good Life Sorted, we see every day the incredible difference carers make. Caring takes patience, kindness, and strength, and it truly deserves recognition.

So, for National Carers Week we joined the Carers Cafe with the wonderful team at Age UK Milton Keynes to learn more about the amazing local support available for unpaid carers.

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was full of kindness. We took part in a mindfulness session with Mind BLMK, enjoyed coffee, cake, and conversation, and met wonderful organisations including Citizens Advice MK, and The Parks Trust. There were also nail painting and crafts, adding a lovely creative touch to the event.💅🎨

It was a reminder that carers deserve time to relax, connect, and be celebrated, not just for what they do, but for who they are.

If you’re a carer yourself, remember that support goes both ways. Good Life Sorted Helpers can make life a little easier, through companionship, errands, household help, or simply a friendly chat. Because carers deserve care too.

Not all carers identify as carers.

Many are simply husbands, wives, daughters, sons, friends and neighbours doing what they can for someone they love.

They are the people who quietly rearrange their lives around somebody else's needs.

The people who sit in waiting rooms, chase appointments, manage medications, pick up shopping, fill in forms, make difficult decisions and carry worries that often go unseen by everyone around them.

They are often the first to notice when something isn't quite right and the last to ask for help themselves.

Caring can be an act of love, but that doesn't mean it isn't hard.

It can be exhausting, overwhelming, lonely and heartbreaking at times.

This , we want to recognise not only everything unpaid carers do, but everything they carry.

To every carer who is navigating uncertainty, advocating for someone they love, putting on a brave face, or simply doing their best one day at a time - thank you.

You matter too. 💙

We are really looking forward to meeting everyone attending 😊💙

We are delighted to be supporting Dunstable Town Council with their Peace, Love & Rock 'n' Roll Big Lunch! ✌️💙🎸

Opportunities to come together, make new connections, catch up with familiar faces, and simply enjoy good company are so important.

We can't wait to see everyone enjoying what promises to be a fantastic afternoon of music, laughter and community spirit! 😊🎶✨

🎶 A huge thank you to Good Life Sorted for sponsoring our Peace, Love & Rock and Roll Big Lunch on Tuesday 16 June in Grove House Gardens.

Their generous support has funded the live entertainment for the day, helping us bring The Wilson Show and George Wilson to Dunstable for an afternoon of music, dancing and community spirit.

Community events like this are made possible through partnerships with organisation's that share our commitment to bringing people together, and we're incredibly grateful for their support.

We look forward to welcoming everyone signed up to the event for an afternoon of great entertainment, afternoon tea and good company.
