When you’re called out by your own FB memories 😬
Five years ago, I shared this:
“Knowing what must be done does away with fear.”
At the time, I believed it.
At that time I didn’t realise how much fear was holding me back.
Of course, sometimes you can push through the fear & that boosts your confidence motivating you to keep moving forwards.
Sometimes pushing through comes with a cost of overwhelm & burnout. Only for you to take weeks to recover, then you repeat the whole cycle again.
But what about when you can’t just push through. When fear is hiding behind people-pleasing & perfectionism.
When you’re busy all the time & everytime you’re going to do the thing you remember something else you need to do first.
Fear doesn’t always come banging at the gate announcing its presence.
Sometimes it just rearranges your priorities.
It convinces you the washing, somebody else’s problem or one more bit of preparation really does need doing first.
So five years later, I’d have to change that quote to:
Knowing what must be done doesn’t always do away with fear.
Please tell me I’m not the only one whose fear has a very convincing to-do list 😬
