🥂 25 years a nurse today. How did that happen?!

Twenty-five years ago, I qualified as a Registered Nurse. I don't think the younger me could have imagined where nursing would take me.

I've worked across emergency care, intensive care, primary care and advanced practice, worked at sea as a cruise ship nurse, travelled overseas with nursing and eventually became an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Independent Prescriber.

There have been some incredible experiences, some very difficult ones, plenty of long shifts, and definitely a few moments where I've wondered what on earth I was doing 😂

But after 25 years, one thing hasn't changed: I still genuinely care about doing things properly and looking after the person in front of me.

And now I'm taking all those years of clinical experience into a very different chapter.

I'm currently building the Skin Studio Wirral — my own little medical aesthetics and skin clinic, which you can see is still very much a work in progress behind me! 😂

I want it to be somewhere people can come for honest, evidence-based advice about their skin, without pressure, trends or being told they need a face full of treatments.

So today I'm allowing myself a little glass of fizz and celebrating 25 years of nursing. 🥂

And, perhaps more importantly, looking forward to what comes next.

Here's to the next chapter. ❤️

Its all happening in September!

Its my last week in my current GP role. Ill be leaving Great Sutton Medical Centre going to The Warren's Medical Centre for 2 days a week. Teaching for 2 days a week and opening my clinic! Im so excited new challenges, new experiences and new teams- Ill never forget the old teams either! X
