Graham Day had a lucky escape. A 40-foot fall from a cliff when trying to rescue his dog could have proven fatal.

He fractured multiple ribs and punctured a lung but after his rescue Graham took up Nordic walking to help his recovery.

Now he’s on a mission to get as many people into Nordic walking as possible through Wirral Council’s Active You programme. He runs free sessions at New Brighton’s Floral Pavilion on Mondays (10am-12pm) and Birkenhead Park on Fridays (10am-12pm).

Nordic walking transforms an ordinary walk into a full-body workout, engaging up to 90% of the body’s muscles and is suitable for a wide range of fitness levels. It's also recommended by the NHS for people with arthritis and offers a sociable way to stay fit.

If you’d like to try a free Nordic walking session with Graham, you can book a place through the Active Wirral Leisure Hub or just turn up and put your best foot forward!

The annual GP Practice Survey results are out! We are very proud of our team as they continue to achieve great results in this annual survey. There is always room for improvement and we will be discussing these results with the team and our Patient Group to look at options to do this. In the meantime, take a look yourself and compare us to other Practices on the Wirral.

See how your GP practice is doing: explore the results of The GP Patient Survey, an independent patient experience survey run by Ipsos on behalf of NHS England.

Medicines Waste campaign

We need your help to reduce medicine waste in our area. We are asking patients to:

Only order what you need: Check what medicines you have at home before you order, and only request the medicines you need this time. You will still be able to order others again in future.
Check your prescription bag straight away: Check that you only have what you need before you leave the pharmacy, and that there’s nothing extra in there.
Let us know if your medicines are no longer right for you: Talk to your pharmacy team or attend/request medication reviews to make sure medicines are optimised for you.
Take your medicines to the hospital: Keep a current list of your medicines on your NHS App, and take all your medicines in with you.
Dispose of medicines safely: Return any unused or out-of-date medicines or inhalers to your pharmacy for safe disposal
Visit: www.cheshireandmerseyside.nhs.uk/medicines-waste to find out more.

Thank you for helping us reduce medicine waste

We’re asking parents and carers to complete a short questionnaire to share views about childhood vaccinations for children aged 0–5 years. Parent/carer responses will help us better understand:
any concerns or questions they may have
what information or support would be most helpful
things that influence choices
Please share this and encourage others to take part so we can listen, learn, and
respond to what families really need.
The questionnaire is quick to complete and confidential
