Autumn has arrived and the fact that I’m posting about the Equinox several days late tells you a little bit about the abundance of my energy at the moment.

A lot of his year has felt tough, and a lot of people I know are really going through it right now.

When we explore seasonal themes and archetypes, our default starting point might be the external but what does that mean for us when the external is at odds with our internal experience?

The themes of autumn invite us to reflect on abundance, and what we’re gathering in, but that doesn’t feel particularly aligned with where I am right now.

Instead I’m thinking about what I’m maintaining, what’s already here, and how can I honour my energy and capacity.

Your own inner season might feel different too. You might be flourishing. You might be depleted. You might be grieving, beginning again, resting, or putting one foot in front of the other, to get through the day.

If you’re not feeling abundant or grateful, can that be ok?

As we move into Autumn there’s a shift towards conservation, release and rest.
As I explore that for myself, I’m thinking about what I’m tending to, what I need to let go of and what ‘enough’ looks like for me right now.

Autumn Equinox Blessings.
I hope you find softness as we meet a new season.

Join us for October's Slow Social + watercolour painting. Slow Social is an alcohol-free, facilitated gathering that’s all about connection.

We’ll explore conversation through prompts, to create a space for meaningful chats, different perspectives and a chance to meet people in an intentional way.

In October, artist and somatic coach Sophie Rey will be joining us. Alongside our usual format, Sophie will guide us through watercolour painting prompts, while we get curious about what creativity means to us. No painting experience needed!

I'd love to hear your reflections about some of the questions we explored at Slow Social last night. Is there ever a moral justification for breaking rules? And what is your definition of privilege? Join us at October's social to explore theses kinds of questions in person.

I’m probably late to the band-wagon but I’m jumping on it anyway…

kinda chic to reject the idea that you have to be productive, successful, or exhausted to ‘deserve’ rest

kinda chic to let yourself stim, use sensory supports, or communicate in ways that feel authentic, instead of masking

kinda chic to treat mobility aids as tools for access, independence, pleasure, and participation

kinda chic to acknowledge the systemic issues that impact you, instead of seeing yourself as the problem

kinda chic to know your worth isn’t something you have to earn

kinda chic to say f**k you to anyone who thinks your lived experience is theirs to debate

Slow Social is back at The Cloak and Dagger in September.

Skip the small talk and join us for connection, conversation and the chance for adults of all ages to explore intergenerational friendships.

Through a mix one-to-one and small-group conversations, you'll explore thoughtful prompts, meaningful topics, and light-hearted questions that invite curiosity, authenticity, and a depth. Think speed dating but slower, structured, and sober!

Whether you're hoping to meet new people, build community, or try a different kind of social experience, this is an alcohol free, identity affirming space that's hosted by me, Laura, a therapist and counsellor with lived experience of neurodivergence.

Sign up via the events link in my bio or drop me a message if you have any questions!
