Why can warm water make rehabilitation feel more comfortable?
For people experiencing muscle tension, stiffness, persistent pain or reduced mobility, movement on land can sometimes feel difficult or uncomfortable.
Hydrotherapy provides a different rehabilitation environment.
The warmth of the water can help muscles feel more relaxed, while buoyancy supports the body and reduces the amount of load placed through joints and muscles.
For some patients, this can make it easier to begin moving, practising exercises and rebuilding confidence.
Hydrotherapy may be used as part of rehabilitation for people with:
• Persistent pain
• Reduced mobility
• Neurological conditions
• Orthopaedic or post-operative rehabilitation needs
• Joint stiffness
• Balance difficulties
At Bluebell Hydro & Physio, hydrotherapy is not simply exercise in a warm pool.
Every session is planned around the patient's abilities, symptoms and rehabilitation goals, with clinical supervision throughout.
The aim is to create an environment where movement can be practised safely and progressively.
