PCOS is becoming PMOS.

A growing number of experts are calling for Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) to be renamed Poly-Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS).

Why? Because the condition involves much more than the ovaries alone. It can affect hormone balance, metabolism, weight, insulin resistance, and long-term health.

The proposed name aims to better reflect the full picture of the condition and help improve understanding, diagnosis, and care.

Have you heard about the move from PCOS to PMOS?

This National Walking Month, remember that every step counts 👣

Walking is one of the simplest ways to support your overall health and wellbeing. Whether it’s a short walk before work, getting some fresh air during lunch, or choosing to move a little more throughout the day, it all adds up.

Regular walking can help support:
• Heart health
• Energy levels
• Mental wellbeing
• Stress management
• Staying active in a manageable way

The NHS recommends adults stay active throughout the week, and walking can be an easy place to start for many people.
Small daily habits can make a big difference over time.

Feeling bloated all the time? It could be more than just something you ate.
IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is one of the most common digestive conditions in the UK, affecting millions of people every year. Symptoms can include:

• Stomach pain or cramps
• Bloating
• Diarrhoea or constipation
• Excess gas

While IBS is common, certain symptoms should always be checked by a GP, including blood in your stools, unexplained weight loss, or diarrhoea lasting longer than 7 days.

At Quick Meds, we believe understanding your symptoms is the first step towards feeling better.

Staying hydrated is one of the simplest ways to support your health.

Water helps with energy, digestion, temperature control, focus and keeping your body working as it should. While the common “8 glasses a day” guide is a helpful target, how much you need can vary depending on your age, activity levels, weather and overall health.

A general guide is around 2.7 litres a day for women and 3.7 litres a day for men from all fluids, including drinks and food. Water is the best choice, but tea, coffee, milk and water-rich foods all count too.

A simple way to check if you’re drinking enough? You shouldn’t feel very thirsty often, and your urine should be pale yellow.

Can you drink alcohol on Mounjaro?

Yes — but it’s not always that simple.

While there’s no direct interaction, alcohol can make side effects like nausea, dehydration, and low blood sugar worse. Plus, it may slow your progress if you’re working towards weight loss goals.

If you do drink, keep it minimal, stay hydrated, and listen to your body.
