Revolution Sound, community soundsystem The politics of dancing. Fundraising for progressive causes.

/Birmingham UK You'll no doubt have noticed, but we're at war. In solidarity.

The Tory Government is intent on whittling away every last hard-won democratic advance, every last measure of security or stability. Legal aid, the NHS, unemployment benefits, workers' rights, all decimated. And the plain fact is that we're losing. Revolution Sound is a cultural intervention: an attempt to recognise where we are, to allow people to socialise and engage with each other in an atmosp

here of warmth and solidarity, while raising funds for progressive groups and causes. We're hoping to be a semi-regular night. In 2014 we raised money for Birmingham Community Law Centre and Medical Aid for Palestine. In May 2015, we raised nearly £300 for Birmingham foodbanks. In 2016 and 2017 we have organised foodbank collections for Birmingham and Solihull Women's Aid and for B30 Foodbank. We have also raised funds for anti fascist causes, asylum seeker charities and a community farm project. Let us know if you'd like to play at a future event, or if you have a group or cause in need of support.

A fascist party, funded by Elon Musk, the richest man in human history, is using a rapper- *a rapper*- to punt its dogsh*t politics. Except the 'rapper'- "Danny Bones"- doesn't exist. He- it- is an AI creation, and his- its- music is created from the work of actual , living antifascist artists.

'Bones' has an accent informed by Jamaica and Lahore. Its music- UK rap- echoes the basslines of dancehall and the cadences of grime and hiphop. It literally couldn't exist without Blackness, without immigration.

Fascism is death. Fascists have no culture. The far right could never produce a 'Fight the Power', or a 'Smells like Teen Spirit' or a 'Sinners', or a 'Guernica', or a 'Chura Liya'.

They have no art, so like the vampires they are, they try to nourish themselves by sucking from ours. But they can't fu***ng have it.

No culture for fascists.

An AI-generated rapper called Danny Bones with links to far-right Reform splinter party Advance UK repeatedly intervened in the Gorton and Denton by-election. Harriet Williamson and Simon Childs report.
