✨ A Special Afternoon for Billy! ✨🚗

One of our residents, Billy, has always had a fascination with cars, so we decided to treat him to a special afternoon out.

We took a drive along the motorway before calling in at the Mercedes showroom, where Billy had the chance to get up close to some of the latest luxury vehicles. From sitting behind the wheel to exploring the stylish interiors, he thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the experience.

The staff at the showroom were incredibly welcoming and took the time to chat with Billy, making him feel like a VIP. Their kindness and patience helped make the visit even more memorable.

Seeing Billy's smile as he explored the cars was wonderful, and it's moments like these that remind us how important it is to support our residents in enjoying the things they love.

A huge thank you to the fantastic team at Mercedes for helping to make Billy's day so special. ❤️

🦙 A Wonderful Day with the Alpacas at Singleton Lodge! 🦙

Today, David enjoyed a fantastic visit to the alpacas at Singleton Lodge, and what an unforgettable experience it was!

The photos capture some truly special moments from the day. In one picture, David is standing beside a beautiful white alpaca outside its shelter, gently stroking it while smiling from ear to ear. Another close-up photo shows David and the alpaca posing together, giving a wonderful sense of just how friendly and curious these animals are. Also, David is feeding two alpacas over a fence, including a striking dark brown alpaca and a white alpaca, both eagerly waiting for their treats in the sunshine.

David spent plenty of time getting up close with these amazing animals, feeding them, walking alongside them, and giving them lots of gentle strokes. The knowledgeable staff shared fascinating facts about the alpacas throughout the visit, helping David learn all about their personalities, habits, and care.

One of the highlights of the day was meeting a baby alpaca that was just 9 days old! 🥰

David was amazed by the alpacas' size and particularly impressed by their strong, sturdy necks. Of course, no alpaca experience would be complete without the occasional sneeze and a cheeky nibble at a sleeve or two! 😄

It was a truly enjoyable day spent with some very friendly and curious creatures, creating wonderful memories and plenty of smiles along the way.

A huge thank you to everyone at Singleton Lodge for making David's visit so special and for sharing their knowledge and passion for these wonderful animals. ❤️

🍻 A Wonderful Afternoon at the Farmers Arms 🍻

Earlier this week, some of our residents and staff from Princess Alexandra Home enjoyed a lovely visit to the Farmers Arms Pub.

As you can see from the photos, there were plenty of smiles and lots of good company as everyone relaxed together and enjoyed a well-earned afternoon out. Residents spent time chatting, sharing stories, and enjoying refreshments in the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the pub.

Outings like these provide a fantastic opportunity for residents to socialise, make memories, and enjoy a change of scenery, and this trip was no exception. It was wonderful to see everyone having such a great time together.

A big thank you to the staff who helped make the visit possible and to the team at the Farmers Arms for their hospitality.

We look forward to many more enjoyable days out in the future! 😊

💛 Hearts of Gold – May Winners 💛

A huge congratulations and heartfelt thank you to Sally, one of our dedicated carers, and her husband Ian, who have been awarded our Hearts of Gold Award for May.

Sally and Ian were nominated for consistently going above and beyond to support the residents here at the Princess Alexandra Home. In their own time, they have worked tirelessly to raise money for our Residents’ Amenities Fund, helping to make a real difference to the lives of those who live here.

Their kindness, generosity and commitment have resulted in an incredible £290 being raised, which will go towards residents’ days out, entertainment, activities and other day-to-day extras that help make life at the Home even more enjoyable.

The photo shows Sally and Ian enjoying a day out together by a marina, with the sunshine reflecting on the water and boats moored in the background. Their smiles perfectly capture the warmth, positivity and community spirit they bring to everything they do.

Thank you both for your continued support, dedication and generosity. Your efforts are truly appreciated by residents, families and staff alike.

👏 Congratulations Sally and Ian – very deserving recipients of our Hearts of Gold Award! 💛

We were delighted to see our resident, David, taking part in a recording session today for an exciting upcoming project with the Friends of Stanley Park, celebrating the park's centenary.

David shared some wonderful memories of his time spent in Stanley Park over the years, including childhood visits and his involvement in composing the café's menu in Braille, helping to make it more accessible for people with sight loss.

It was a fantastic opportunity for David to reflect on his experiences and contribute to preserving the history and stories that make Stanley Park such a special place in our community.

We are incredibly proud of David for sharing his memories and helping future generations learn about the park's rich heritage.

💚 We look forward to seeing the finished project and hearing more stories from those whose lives have been touched by Stanley Park.
