🍕 PIZZA & PALS

Whysup In The Community, in collaboration with our good friends at Cafe Italia, are excited to launch Pizza & Pals, a new weekly men’s group in Bolton.

Sometimes getting out of the house, having a chat and being around good people can make a massive difference.

That’s what Pizza & Pals is all about.

No presentations. No pressure to talk. No need to explain why you’re there.

Just a relaxed space to meet other lads, have a chat, make connections and grab some free food.

It’s a chance to reflect on what’s going on in our lives, talk about the challenges we might be facing and support each other along the way.

The group will take place in a private room at Cafe Italia, creating a comfortable and confidential space. What’s discussed in the room stays in the room.

📅 Starting Wednesday 23rd September, then every Wednesday
⏰ 7pm to 8:30pm
📍 Cafe Italia, 877-879 Moss Bank Way, Bolton, BL1 5SN
👥 Men aged 16+
🍕 Free pizza to start with, but we’ll mix the food up as we go
💬 Free to attend

🚗 Parking: We ask everyone attending to please park at Doffcocker Lodge car park, which is around a 2 minute walk from Cafe Italia.

Whether you’re struggling, feeling a bit isolated, want to meet new people, or simply fancy getting out of the house for an hour or two, having some nice food and a chat, you’re welcome.

📩 Interested in joining us? Please send us a DM or email [email protected] to let us know.

Pizza & Pals. Bringing blokes together. No booze, no pressure, just good food and good company. 🍕🤝

And for those asking, a women’s group is coming soon too 🙂

A big thank you to the team at Acumen Financial Planning for inviting Whysup to deliver an online session to around 80 of their staff based across Scotland today.

We spent the session talking openly about mental health, stress and resilience, combining lived experience with practical conversations around recognising when we might be struggling, looking after ourselves, and supporting colleagues, friends and loved ones.

Thanks to everyone who joined us, listened and engaged with the session.

At Whysup, our aim is simple: education, awareness and honest conversations that people can take back into everyday life.

Thanks for having us! 🙌

Sometimes the most important thing we can do is remind someone that they don’t have to go through things on their own.

A conversation might feel small, but it can mean more than you realise.

Look out for each other. And if you’re struggling yourself, please reach out. Support is available.

Save the final slide. Share it. Keep those numbers somewhere you can find them.

Over the years, we've seen WHYSUP hoodies, T-shirts, caps and beanies turn up just about everywhere.

And we still love seeing them.

Because for us, every WHYSUP logo out there helps keep conversations around mental health, addiction and wellbeing visible.

If you've had yours for years, thank you for continuing to wear it.

And if you haven't got yours yet, the WHYSUP shop is open.

25% of profits go to Whysup In The Community.

Hoodies. T-shirts. Caps. Beanies.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who turned up for Dean Barbers Cocozza golf day. Especially on a Monday morning with the good old British weather. Thankfully it held off 🌧️

All funds raised will be donated to Whysup In The Community, which will be supporting people in our home town of Bolton.

A special thank you to Dean who always goes above and beyond in supporting the work we do.

The man is some community champion 💚

Please can everyone I know get behind that AMAZING MAN DOING THIS AMAMZING CHALLENGE.

is one of the most inspiring people you could meet.

When he told us he was going to skip the length of the UK (which is 40 marathons in 40 days!!!) we did think he was slightly bonkers!

But it’s those who dare, do these amazing things, and hopefully break a world record along the way.

He’s raising money for 2 charities @52.lives who do some amazing work.

We are also proud that Krish will be joining our lived experience team from October (after his well earned rest)

Link to sponsor in our IG story or FB comments below.

Keep going mate 💙

Meet Stef, our Primary Wellbeing Lead & Mentor at Whysup.

Stef is an Emotional Health & Wellbeing Practitioner who specialises in early intervention and supporting children and young people with their emotional wellbeing.

With a background across education, charity and community settings, Stef brings a wealth of experience to Whysup. She plays a huge part in developing and delivering our work within primary schools, as well as delivering one-to-one mentoring with young people in secondary schools.

As a qualified Nurture Practitioner, her approach is child-centred, practical and focused on giving young people the tools to better understand themselves, their emotions and the world around them.

We’re incredibly lucky to have her as part of the team.

Stef is also a mum of 2, a Leeds Utd season ticket holder and used to be a children’s entertainer, dressing up as Elsa from Frozen!

"How many conversations are they having?"

It's a simple question.

But it's one every transport business should think about.

Many drivers spend days away from home.

Some leave on a Sunday and don't return until Thursday or Friday.

While most of us spend our day surrounded by colleagues, friends or family, many drivers spend hours on the road with very little human interaction.

That level of isolation can have a real impact on wellbeing.

Supporting mental health in logistics isn't only about responding when someone is struggling.

It's about recognising the unique challenges our industry faces and creating opportunities for people to connect, talk and feel supported.

At Whysup Logistics, we're working with businesses across the sector to start those conversations.

Because no one should feel like they're facing the road alone.

A positive step towards protecting young people.

EA FC 27 has been given a 16+ age rating, a significant change from the 3+ rating previous versions of the game carried.

Why the change?

New PEGI rules now take greater account of features such as paid random items, commonly known as loot boxes.

EA FC’s Ultimate Team allows players to spend real money on packs containing randomly selected players. While spending isn't required to play, these types of mechanics have faced growing scrutiny over the behaviours they can encourage.

At Whysup, we think the new rating is a positive move.

Young people are growing up in a world where the lines between gaming, spending and gambling-style behaviours can become increasingly difficult to recognise.

This isn't about telling young people not to game.

It's about education, awareness and giving parents the information they need to have conversations about money, gaming habits and the risks that can come with certain in-game features.
