Home-Start Host can help! Meet with specially trained professionals who can support with all kinds of parenting challenges, like:

✔️Loneliness or isolation
✔️Multiple births (twins/triplets) or several children of pre-school age
✔️Ill health, disability, or additional needs
✔️Bereavement or relationship problems
✔️Struggling with the emotional and physical demands of having young children
✔️Difficulties with children’s behaviour
✔️Lone parenting

You can ask a healthcare or early years professional to make a referral for you, or you can self-refer to the service.

If you or someone you know is struggling to make ends meet, please get in touch with Crescent Food Bank before the end of the month. They may be able to help those experiencing financial hardship with practical support such as help with winter clothing and school uniforms.

Learn Language Together - Sign up today

Recreate-U offer a free English language and early learning programme for parents and carers with babies aged 0 to 6 months in Bolton that speak other languages.

Families attending can learn English with a qualified ESOL teacher, build confidence, improve wellbeing, meet other families, enjoy a free meal and take part in fun activities that support babies' early development.

Sessions take place at:

Harvey Best Start Family Hub, Shaw Street, Bolton BL3 6HU
o Block 1: 30 October to 11 December, 3:30pm to 5:30pm
o Block 2: 15 January to 19 February, 3:30pm to 5:30pm

Oxford Grove Best Start Family Hub, Oxford Grove, Bolton BL1 3BH
o Block 1: 4 September to 9 October, 12:30pm to 2:30pm
o Block 2: 30 October to 11 December, 12:30pm to 2:30pm
o Block 3: 15 January to 19 February, 12:30pm to 2:30pm

Our Talking Walk-in drop-in offers a friendly, play-based space where children can play while parents and carers chat with professionals from the Speech and Language Therapy Service and Family Hubs.

Great for parents, carers, children, and siblings to meet other families, play, and access local services information and advice.

👉 Free of charge, focused on play and communication skills.
