High-quality evidence shows that aerobic exercise, walking, cycling or swimming, is the most effective way to improve pain, physical function and quality of life in knee osteoarthritis.
None of these is better than the others. Walking isn't superior to cycling. Swimming isn't inherently more protective. What matters most is choosing something that fits your life, and that you can return to consistently.
The goal isn't a perfect routine. It's one you'll actually keep doing.
