Health anxiety can make it difficult to know when to trust your body, when to seek reassurance and when to allow a worry to pass.

The Watchful Body is a reflective resource exploring the checking and reassurance cycle, what may be happening within the nervous system, and what it might look like to build a gentler relationship with uncertainty.

It does not ask someone to stop worrying or suggest that their fears are irrational. It begins with understanding what the watchfulness may be trying to provide.

Two versions are available:

• Individual Resource: a six-page Print PDF and a six-page Fillable PDF for personal reflection or bringing into therapy

• Therapist Resource Pack: both client versions and the 12-page Working with Health Anxiety: Therapist Companion

The Therapist Companion explores the reassurance cycle, nervous system responses, therapeutic language, common responses and clinical considerations when introducing the resource.

Choose the version that fits how you plan to use it:

The truth about inner healing!
It is a journey, it is a process and it is gradual. That doesn’t make it wrong or mean we’re failing.

We can become so focused on getting rid of uncomfortable emotions that we miss what they are trying to tell us.

Healing isn’t about never feeling difficult emotions. It’s about being able to meet them, understand them and work with what sits underneath them.

My free resource ‘The Bus’ is a starting place to explore the emotions that are the ‘passengers’ on board throughout life! We all have them 🙂

The full cost of therapy can make accessing support a difficult choice.

At Place to Talk Therapies, we offer an online lower-cost counselling service to make professional support more accessible when the fees feel difficult to manage.

There is no means testing or requirement to prove financial hardship. We can have an open conversation about what you are looking for and together decide if our lower-cost service might be right for you.

If cost has been one of the things making counselling feel less accessible, you are welcome to get in touch and ask about current availability.

A free resource you may find helpful.

The Bus is a simple reflective resource for thinking about the different parts of you that can show up when life feels difficult, overwhelming or uncertain.

It can be used on your own, with someone you support, or simply as a starting point for reflection.

It’s completely free to download.

Do your feelings ever feel like they're all fighting for the front seat?

The Bus is a free reflective worksheet exploring the different parts of you that show up each day: the ones that speak up, and the ones that stay quiet in the back.

It's a gentle way of noticing who's on board, without needing to get rid of anyone.

“When People-Pleasing is Really About Feeling Safe” looks at why people-pleasing is not always a boundaries problem. For many of us, saying no once brought conflict, withdrawal, or silence that felt worse than giving in. Yes became the safer option, learned long before we had a say in it.

Unlearning this pattern starts with understanding it, rather than forcing yourself to say no more often. It means noticing what no has come to mean, and slowly building a sense of safety around honouring your own needs.

Pregnancy and baby loss can leave a kind of grief that doesn’t always make sense to the people around you.

You can feel like you are finding your feet again, then a date, a pregnancy announcement, a baby’s age, a scan, a song or something seemingly small can bring everything rushing back.

That doesn’t mean you are going backwards.

It means your loss mattered.

Supporting people through pregnancy and infant loss is a particular area of my practice, and one I approach with an understanding of how grief, trauma, relationships and the body can all become intertwined after loss.

There is no right way to grieve, and there is no timetable for when you should be “better”.

Sometimes the most compassionate thing you can do is recognise that today is a difficult day and give yourself permission to need something different.

If pregnancy or baby loss is part of your story, you don’t have to minimise it just because time has passed.

And if your grief has shown up today, perhaps this is your reminder to be gentle with yourself.

Shared from SANDS, because this message deserves to be heard.

EMDR can be difficult to explain, whether you’re the therapist introducing it or the client trying to understand it.

If you’re a client, you might be wondering:

Why does something that happened in the past still affect me now?

Why can my body react when I know I’m safe?

What actually happens when we process a memory?

Do I have to talk through everything that happened?

If you’re a therapist, you may be looking for a simple way to help your client understand these questions before beginning EMDR.

The Bridge is a free, four-page resource created for exactly that.

Using the metaphor of a bridge between Then and Now, it explains how experiences from the past can remain connected to what we think, feel and experience in the present, and how EMDR can support the processing of those experiences.

It can be used by therapists alongside their clinical work, or read by clients who want to understand more about EMDR and what they might expect.

It isn’t a replacement for EMDR training or clinical guidance. It is simply a way of making the process a little easier to understand.

The Bridge is free to download.

For therapists to share with clients, or for anyone wanting to understand EMDR a little better:

There’s something quietly humbling about an eclipse.

For a moment, the familiar light changes as the Moon moves between the Earth and the Sun.

Nothing has really gone anywhere. The Sun is still there, the Moon is still moving, and the darkness is only temporary.

Perhaps there’s something in that for us too.

Not everything that feels hidden is gone. Sometimes, we’re simply moving through a moment when the light looks different.

Threads of Grief, Finding Your Ground, and Conflict Resolution: Conversation Cards are 25% off until 26th August.

Grief rarely moves in a straight line. Neither does postnatal depression, and neither does conflict.

These three resources were created with that in mind: offering frameworks that can hold complexity gently, rather than asking anyone to tidy their experience into something simpler than it is.

Threads of Grief offers a way of naming what grief can actually feel like, thread by thread, without pressure to move on or make sense of it too quickly.

Finding Your Ground offers gentle support through postnatal depression, without expecting you to be coping before you begin.

Conflict Resolution: Conversation Cards bring that same care into difficult conversations, helping to move exchanges from protection and reaction towards understanding.

Swipe through for a look inside Threads of Grief and click on the link in comments or bio to see them all.
