Mangar was founded in the village of Presteigne, in mid-Wales, by David Garman who was trying to solve the problem of

helping a relative get in and out of the bath. He visualised an aid which would result in a safe and dignified bathing experience for his family member …and it was his skill and determination that resulted in the world’s first powered structured bath lift. Award-winning Products
The product went on to win a number of awards, but when you’re an inventor like David you don’t just stop at one. He went on to mastermind a number of other products all with the same underlying aim of helping people, and their carers, with the least fuss and the most dignity. In time, Mangar products became the items of choice for private clients and professionals both at home and in medical settings as well as emergency situations. Such is David’s portfolio of work, that in 2007 he was awarded the BHTA (British Healthcare Trades Association) Lifetime Service Award for his contribution and dedication to the rehabilitation industry. It was only in 2014 that at the age of 90 plus David stepped aside as owner and handed the reins over to his trusted team. Mangar began a new chapter in its history at that point in time with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals – many of which worked directly with David for many years – continuing to realise David’s vision of serving a worldwide customer base with a range of life-changing products.
