π Men's Mental Health Week π
15th-20th June is Men's Mental Health Week, and it's an important reminder that looking after your mental health is just as important as looking after your physical health.
Men are statistically at higher risk for mental health challenges and su***de. Male su***de accounted for nearly 3/4 of all su***des in England and Wales in 2023, and remains the leading cause of death for men under 50 years of age.
As men, we're often taught to "get on with it", stay strong, and keep our struggles to ourselves. But true strength isn't about suffering in silence, it's about recognising when you need support and having the courage to reach out.
Just as we train our bodies, we need to take care of our minds. Whether that's talking to a friend, spending time exercising, getting outdoors, taking a break when needed, or speaking to a professional, every positive step matters.
This week, let's check in on ourselves and on the men around us. A simple conversation could make a huge difference to someone who is struggling.
