It means so much to hear feedback like this from a celebration of a very special life last week -

"We can’t thank Sylvia enough for the care and compassion she showed our family. She took the time to visit us at home, met all of the family, and really listened to our stories about Dad. That personal touch meant so much to us and made the whole service feel truly special.

The ceremony was beautiful and incredibly memorable. Every detail was handled with such sensitivity and professionalism, and the poem she chose was so apt – it perfectly captured Dad and everything he stood for.

We’re so grateful for the thought, warmth and dignity she brought to such an important day. We would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a truly personal and meaningful service.

It's so heartwarming to know that what you do really does make a difference.

What a life! What a legacy! What an inspiration!

“What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built;
not what you got, but what you gave.
What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others.”
Michael Josephson

This epitomises the life of Charmouth resident, James Ray Wilkinson, whose celebration of life I had the honour of conducting yesterday.
As a woodworking and outdoor pursuits teacher, Ray built a 28ft boat – Odette, from one inch strip planking, persuaded future wife, Julia, to crew for him on an epic journey from the Bahamas to the UK and nearly drowned in the process!
Back in the UK, he developed outdoor pursuits centres for teachers and students, day sailing centres in Essex and built racing dinghies from fibreglass moulds to enable Essex schools to win 5 out of 5 races.
Ray’s determination, vision, people skills and sense of humour made him a leader that it was a joy to work with and changed the lives of thousands of people and will continue as ripple effect of impact across the world.

"Living a life that matters doesn’t happen by accident.
It’s not a matter of circumstance but of choice.
Choose to live a life that matters." Michael Josephson
